The Big Yellow House - Private Suite
This is one of four spaces available in my home in an older and quaint part of Modesto. I provide everything you need for a comfortable stay including a comfy queen-sized bed, desk, coffee/tea, wifi, microwave, refrigerator. This is a private space in the back part of the house. It has a bedroom, a private bathroom, and an extra sitting/breakfast room. This is a great space for long-term guests such as traveling nurses and interns. Modesto is a great central location between the Bay Area and Yosemite. It is a good location for traveling nurses, business people, and those traveling for pleasure. My house is in an older neighborhood with tree-lined streets and unique homes. My home is a lovely place to stay where you will be treated special and yet feel at home. The house is one story. This guest room faces the back garden and fence along the alley. There is one queen size bed in the room with hardwood floors and grey room-darkening curtains. You have a private bathroom which includes a shower stall, toilet, and single sink. I provide hand soap, Dixie cups, and towels. Guests should provide and use their own personal items such as shampoo, lotion, etc. In the breakfast room there is a refrigerator and a microwave. I provide paper plates, plastic utensils, napkins, mugs, salt/pepper, and sugar. Tea and coffee can be made by heating up the water in the microwave. Coffee can be made using the coffee-maker provided. You are welcome to eat in your breakfast room, your room, the kitchen, the front room, or the front porch. Parking is on the street. Modesto may not be a "destination city," but I have found some gems that make it a pleasure to live here. There are great restaurants, the best farmers market around, wonderful entertainment venues, terrific weather, and friendly people. Plus Yosemite is just up the road (sort of). Check out my guidebook or just ask me. Guests have access to the front room, kitchen, bathroom, the guest room, and the front porch. Guests also have access to WiFi. Guests should respect the space and property of me, my family, and other guests. Guests should not enter any private bedroom of me or my family or the other guests for any reason. Please keep noise to a minimum. I recently opened a new business, Dragonfly Tea Room, which keeps me very busy. For this reason I probably won't be available to greet you when you arrive. Guests must be comfortable with using the self-check in on the Airbnb app. This will give you instructions to unlock the front door and to find your room. Please make sure you understand this. My neighborhood is in an older part of Modesto with beautiful tree-lined streets. The houses are all unique and have their own personality. The Virginia Corridor walking/bike path is a great asset and is only a block away. Roseburg Square is in walking distance and you can find my business, Dragonfly Tea Room, as well as a grocery store, Mexican restaurant, pizza, Sushi/Chinese food, and frozen yogurt. My house is very close to the downtown area which has the Gallo Center of the Performing Arts, two movie theaters, terrific restaurants, the library, the farmers market (on Thursday and Saturday mornings). Modesto Junior College and Doctors Medical Center are both in walking distance, and Memorial Hospital is about a 10 minute drive. Mostly, people get around by car. There is public transportation a block away. I highly recommend walking or riding a bike around the neighborhood. I now rent out four guest rooms in my house, so there may be other guests in the house. That doesn't always happen, but it is a possibility. As long as everyone is respectful of each others time and space, it should work smoothly. Guests should also keep noise to a minimum for those guests who go to bed early or sleep late. Reservations should be made using the guest's own Airbnb account, not someone else's.
