Black-out shades and a quiet home allow for sleep any time of the day. The room has a full closet, full length mirror, as well as bedside tables. There is one well mannered cat in my home who is kept out of this room at all times. There's no TV, but high speed Wifi is included with the price of the room. You're welcome to borrow a boardgame or peruse the bookshelves for something to read while you're here. There's a surge protector power strip in this bedroom for your laptop or other devices. Bathrooms are shared, and kitchen use is negotiable. My home is not suitable for children of any age. I do not accept bookings for minors. There is an eat-in kitchen available for light cooking to those who tidy up after themselves, as well as an inviting living room area with armchairs, a couch, gas fireplace, and well stocked bookshelves. I will always be here for your arrival to greet you, show you to your room, and give you a quick orientation to my home. I'm happy to socialize a bit and answer questions about the neighborhood if that's what you're looking for. And I'm often home to respond to any concerns or problems. But I also respect the privacy of my guests. My home is in an older residential neighborhood outside of Allentown city limits. It is just 1.3 miles/2.1 kilometers from Lehigh Valley Hospital, making it ideal for travel nurses, hospital employees, or patients visiting for treatment. Driving times from my home: 5 minutes to Costco, Whole Foods, Target, and plenty of dining options. 5 minutes to the Wescosville bus stop of Transbridge bus service, offering easy 2-hour bus connections to Port Authority in Manhattan 7 minutes to Dorney Park and Wild Water Kingdom 7 minutes to Allentown's Da Vinci Science Center 9 minutes to Cedar Crest College 11 minutes to the Lehigh Valley Velodrome (T-Town) 12 minutes to Muhlenberg College 13 minutes to PPL Center sports arena (home of the Lehigh Valley Phantoms) 14 minutes to Miller Symphony Hall (home of the Allentown Symphony Orchestra) 20 minutes to Sands Casino and Steel Stacks in Bethlehem 20 minutes to skiing at Bear Creek Mountain 20 minutes to Coca-Cola Park (Home of the Lehigh Valley Ironpigs) 20 minutes to Lehigh University in Bethlehem 25 minutes to Kutztown University of Pennsylvania The Lehigh Valley also offers numerous farmer's markets, distinctive covered wooden bridges, fall leaf peeping, hiking, antiquing, scenic drives, and more. Macungie's Das Awkscht Fescht is one of the country's largest antique and classic car shows, and is less than a 10-minute drive from my home. Both these events take place in August. Public transportation is not an option for most purposes, although there is excellent bus service to Port Authority, NYC from extremely close by. There is very little within walking distance of my home. You will need your own vehicle to make staying here practical. Off-street parking in my driveway is included. Garage parking can be negotiated for an additional fee for those staying at least one week. I have two private bedrooms available as separate bookings. Please take careful note of my check-in times before booking, as I cannot accommodate late check-ins - or check-ins on dates other than the original first night of the booking - without arrangement in advance. Early check-in is sometimes possible, but must also be arranged in advance. There is a well behaved, indoor-outdoor cat on the premises. Many guests with dander allergies have reported no allergenic reaction at all. An air filter is available for use in your room if you have concerns. But if you have allergies to cats, or phobias concerning cats, please look for lodging elsewhere. Also, my home is an old Pennsylvania farmhouse type, which means low ceilings in the upstairs bedrooms. If you are exceptionally tall (6' 4"/193cm or taller), you may find the rooms uncomfortable. Winter can bring heavy snowfall in my area. I make every effort to clear snow and provide for the safety and comfort of my guests in case we lose electricity. My road is a Snow Emergency Route, which means it will always be plowed out quickly. But please be aware that hazardous snowfall conditions might occur any time between November and April. I want to make sure that your stay here exceeds expectations.
