Cozy Private Room in Hilltop Home Near UM Campus

Located in Ann Arbor Hills in a picturesque, quiet neighborhood close to Nichols Arboretum, Gallup Park and the Huron River, this welcoming home offers a bright private guest bedroom with two twin beds, workspace with fast wi-fi & ethernet, a sparkling clean shared bathroom, and peaceful outdoor areas. Daily breakfast offerings include brewed coffee, tea, juice, homemade granola, yogurt, pastries, and fresh fruit. Dine indoors or out on the screen porch and deck to enjoy the birds and wildlife. You'll have your own private bedroom at one end of the house. The beds are outfitted with premium mattresses and fresh linens. The room has a large flat-screen TV, workspace with strong internet connectivity, comfortable easy chair, small refrigerator, and plenty of closet and drawer space. The spotless bathroom is shared only with your host. It is stocked with luxurious shampoo, conditioner, bath gel, hand soap, and plenty of clean, fluffy towels. COVID cleaning protocols and safety measures are followed. You're welcome to use the living and dining rooms, where breakfast is served, and the screen porch and back yard deck. Your home-away-from-home is close to UM Central, Athletic, and North Campuses, and moments from the UM, VA, and St. Joseph Mercy Medical Centers. Walk to the Gallup Park and Canoe Livery and rent a canoe or kayak, or hit the links at nearby Huron Hills Golf Course. Visit downtown Ann Arbor’s vibrant cultural attractions and performance venues. Hill Auditorium, the Power Center for the Performing Arts, the Michigan Theater, many fine restaurants, museums and shops are less than a ten-minute drive and conveniently accessible by Lyft or Uber. Walk to Nichols Arboretum and the Dow Prairie at the end of our street. Watch fireflies and listen to the pond fountain from the deck or screen porch in the warmer months. Enjoy cross-country skiing at Huron Hills Golf Course in the colder months. The stunning Peony Garden in Nichols Arboretum is in full bloom at the beginning of June. In summer, the Ann Arbor Art Fairs and the Ann Arbor Summer Festival are a draw. In late summer and through the fall, the name of the game is football. Whether you are here for work or play, this house is ideally located. The State of Michigan allows the sale of marijuana for recreational and medicinal use to people age 21 and older. My home is a no-smoking space, but you are welcome to partake outside. Please leave the aroma of tobacco or marijuana outdoors, too. Thanks for understanding. ;-) The guest room is accessible by the front door. You will be assigned a unique code for the keyless front door entry lock. Off-street parking is available in the driveway. Bicycles and electric scooters may be rented in Ann Arbor. Uber and Lyft are easy to summon. Public airport transportation is available by bus. Alternatively, I can arrange a private car to pick you up or take you to Detroit Metropolitan Airport. I'll be available to visit with you if you wish and to offer whatever help or suggestions you need during your stay. (Masks are available and social distancing is possible.) I often work from my home office. I have a separate listing for a guest suite with a kitchenette on the lower level of the house, so it is possible you may see other guests in the shared spaces, most likely the dining room at breakfast time. Our neighborhood is safe and quiet. The neighbors are primarily professionals who work for nearby universities, hospitals, and tech companies. We have lovely, tree-lined streets. The entrance to Gallup Park, with its walking, running, and biking paths that traverse the Huron River, is literally steps away. Our street dead ends at "The Arb", Nichols Arboretum. At dawn and dusk, you are likely to see white-tail deer meandering through the neighborhood due to our proximity to the Arb and the Huron River. You may also see a rafter of wild turkeys wandering through our yard. I recently saw a mink playing in the rock garden in the back yard! You will want to drive carefully in the neighborhood, especially at dawn and dusk, so as not to hit any wildlife on the move. ;-) Convenient, off-street parking is reserved for you in the driveway. Street parking is also available. If you prefer to leave the driving to someone else, Lyft and Uber are convenient and prompt. Bicycles and Spin e-scooters may be rented in Ann Arbor. Public airport transportation is available by bus. I can help arrange a private car service to meet you to take you to Detroit Metropolitan Airport. If I am away and unable to greet you upon your arrival, I will make arrangements for you to let yourself in and make yourself at home. Please note: The listed CLEANING FEE OF $25 IS CALCULATED PER WEEK. If your stay will be longer than one week, I will adjust your fees accordingly. I will arrange with you a convenient time to change your bed linens each week. We have a medical grade, high-efficiency H13 true HEPA air filter in the house. The air purifier cleans up to 1,600 sq ft (greater than the size of the house) every hour. I use MERV13 air filters in my Carrier HVAC system and change the filters regularly.
