Located on 30 parklike acres, nestled behind one of the Hudson Valley's elegant river estates, lies Rose Hill Cottage. Recently restored, this American Foursquare boasts amenities including a carriage barn rec room, clay tennis court and a seasonal heated saltwater Gunite pool with picturesque Hudson valley views. *Note ~ we have recently passed on our beautiful home to a new family who is continuing to share the cottage on Airbnb. Please click on the link below which will bring you to their site to book. To any returning guests, the new owners are lovely and determined to continue the attentiveness and attention to detail that you had experienced initially. Fortunately this special property’s magic is still for the taking ~ enjoy! https://www.airbnb.com/h/hudsonrivercottage At the end of a tree lined drive, completely secluded from the road, vintage charm meets modern amenities in this estate guest house. Rose Hill Cottage is a 2500 sq. ft. retreat featuring 5 bedrooms with 4 queen beds and 1 king, comfortably sleeping 10. There are 2 baths, a living room with flat screen TV, dining room and a fully equipped charming country kitchen with windows to take in the view. While each bedroom has an unique vintage style, all have eco mattresses and organic sheets. In summer, garden beds of white hydrangea, mature trees, and varied wildlife surround the home, but it is the backdrop of the breathtaking Hudson Valley view that steals the show. The lush, sweeping 4 state vista encompasses the Hudson River in the foreground, Vermont to the north, the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts to the east, and Connecticut to the south. The back porch is a favorite spot to enjoy this expansive beauty, relaxing in a chaise lounge, wicker settee or dining on our outdoor table for 10. While we provide you with a 3 ring binder full of local attractions and events, you may not feel the need to leave the grounds. Summertime watch the sun rise on the back porch, take a tennis match on our clay court, or swim in your private inground 3-10 ft. heated Gunite pool with views of both Catskill and Berkshire Mountains. Use our outdoor grill to make lunch/dinner followed by a game of poker, round of pool, a ping pong match, darts, or perhaps just a movie on the large flat screen TV in the carriage barn. Watch the sunset over the Catskills poolside, and as the air cools, warm yourselves by the fire pit. If feeling adventurous, however, there are plenty of things to do in our area. 3 minutes to a Hudson River Preserve, 10 minutes to boating and kayaking, and 25 minutes to Hudson’s quaint shops, day spas and restaurants. A 30 minute drive will take you to a water park, 45 min drive to the peaks of the Catskill Mountains where you can hike, mountain bike, tube down the Esopus, fish or enjoy scenic zip lines. Hunter and Windham ski resorts also offer snow tubing! We are just 10 minutes from the NYS Thruway so you can jump on and in 25 minutes be in downtown Albany for its museums, restaurants and sporting and cultural venues. Continue north to the Saratoga’s Performing Arts Center, the Saratoga Race Track or just enjoy boutique shopping on their historic main drive. If golf is your thing, you will find over 25 golf courses within a 20 mile radius of us. Something for everyone! Seasonal outdoor pool, tennis court, carriage barn rec room and fire pit. Children are also welcome to visit our chickens and cedar play set when accompanied by an adult. As we occupy the main house, I am generally on hand if you have any questions or issue, and I am always accessible by phone up until 10:00 pm We live just outside the historic village of Coxsackie, an Indian name meaning 'place of many owls'. We are a 2 minute drive from the quaint downtown area. There is a hip General store, bottle shop with great selection of local and organic wines, paper/card shop, primitive gift shop, a cafe and restaurant. There is also the park in downtown area overlooking the Hudson River with gazebo and large kids play set. We are 20 min from Hudson which has an Amtrak station and 7 blocks of brownstones filled with lovely shops and wonderful restaurants. Windham Mountain, Hunter or Catamount are 45 min away if skiing is your thing. And downtown Albany is a 35 min drive via thruway. We supply you with a 3 ring binder filled with local activities to keep you busy for weeks! As we are in a somewhat rural setting, a car is essential. If biking is your thing, we are surrounded by picturesque back roads for safe riding.
