This large, split level home is spacious enough to afford separation and downtime from whomever you are travelling with as well as complete privacy from Neighbours. History A true Viking Long House, hidden away in the heart of Vancouver Island. Built using the ancient art of timber framing by Master Boat Builder and Timber Framer, Pat Woodland, together with house builder Craig Barnes. Timber Framers use mortis and tendons without nails. In addition, you will note certain curved beams and roof trusses around the eyebrow windows; all individually curved by hand, using a hand made steamer. The curved staircase was built by hand by Craig Barnes. The Wrought Iron work was created by renowned Iron Worker, Theresa, The Welder Chic. The front door comes from the owner's great grandfather's historic house in Rockland, Victoria, built in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and demolished for a subdivision in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) The fir floors are milled from Vancouver Island fir and the stained glass windows rescued from a 18th century house in England. Most of the marble comes from Matrix Marble, lovingly selected from their quarry on Vancouver Island. The owners are avid readers and hope you will enjoy reading from the eclectic library collection. The house is formally named "Innisfree", after the poem by the great Irish poet W.B. Yeats. Other Features and Amenities: Indoor space: games room, media room, library, open concept living area with fire places (yes plural!). Outdoor space: massive deck with lounge furniture, fireplace, hot tub, courtyard, Italian garden, fountains, rose gardens, dining area.
