Friends & Families Sweet Suite
Our place is walking distance to parks; wine tasting; food; art and culture; plus a short distance to gorgeous countryside for cycling, hiking, or just driving around. You’ll love our home because of the comfy bed; the lively conversations; and the comfortable, down-to-earth feel. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families (with smallish kids). The guest room is at the very front of the house, with a guest bath beyond. It's easy for guests to come and go with as many or as few conversations with us as they want. Our house is set in a pretty typical suburban-style neighborhood in a town of 2,000 people. We don't water or weed the lawn, so don't expect fancy landscaping, but we keep a fun garden in the front yard. In addition to the room, you are welcome to use any parts of the downstairs section of the house, except for the master bedroom and garage. However, the communal areas of the house are heavily lived-in and may be cluttered or even messy at times. We are very busy and while your room and bathroom will always be clean and disinfected when you arrive, we can't guarantee that the kitchen will be swept everyday or you won't find projects spread out in one of the communal areas. Welcome to our home. Parking is on the street unless you've asked to use the driveway (we're happy to accommodate that request). Getting around town is easy ... it's only two miles across any way you measure it. You may borrow a bicycle if you want (please ask so we know and can provide you with a lock), or we recommend walking to the shops and restaurants that are only a few blocks away. To get to anything else in the area, you can ride a bike, but unless you're an experienced highway rider, driving is recommended. There is a public transit option, but it's pretty spotty and only runs North/South. We will be in and out of the house, but are generally home in the evenings. We're happy to answer questions and help you figure out where to go and what to do while you're here. If you have gender pronouns you would be most comfortable with us using over others, please let us know. We will do our best to refer to you in a manner that feels right to you. Neyssa's are she/her/hers; Tristan's are he/him/his. Carlton is a town of just over 2000 people. It is a quiet town surrounded by farm fields, orchards, and vineyard-covered hills. We are six miles from McMinnville, the downtown of which was voted 2nd Best Main Street in America in 2016. Carlton has some really good restaurants, a fantastic bakery, darling boutiques, and several wine tasting rooms. Our home is easy walking distance from downtown Carlton. Yamhill County has busses that run through Carlton. For the schedule, please visit (Website hidden by Airbnb) Please note: the private room includes a double bed and two loft beds. This room will sleep 2 adults and 2 small children or 3 adults (2 in the double and 1 in the loft). There is also a twin hide-a-bed in the living room that someone could use for an additional charge of $20/night.
