A favorite house+location; we restored it for my husband’s parents and it’s where we hope to live out of last days as well. Comfortable furnishings+beds, vintage charm+unique antiques+grandfather clock so it’s not best for kids. There’s lots of light and glass block+beautiful front and back porches too. Central heat+air, ceiling fans, stainless appliances, inside laundry, large master with TV+french doors out back and a shower with two heads. Plenty of free parking+fast internet with cable too. This whole NON-SMOKING/NO POT AND NO GATHERINGS OR PARTIES house (please READ ALL HOUSE RULES BEFORE REQUESTING and see extra fees/charges if violated below under “other things to note”) Please note: the detached garage is not available and is used for our Airbnb supplies and repairs so housekeepers and maintenance guys may be accessing it from time to time. This will not interrupt your stay as garage is outside the fenced private yard. It’s a unique space; equipped with everything you need for a comfortable long or short stay. Visiting Yosemite? It’s a perfect stop over; halfway between the Bay Area and the most amazing national park! Do our cleaning fees seem a bit high? If so, please know we pride ourselves in doing an extra thorough job; especially in light of the virus issues; we use bleach wipes to wipe down every surface both for your protection and those guests who come after you:) This is a three bedroom, two full bath home; however if the third bedroom is not needed for sleeping, it can instead serve as a most wonderfully light sitting, reading or office space. It’s south/west facing and has lots of windows with a lovely neighborhood view. It’s large doors can be left open or easily closed for quiet and privacy. It has its own closet with darling little window as well. There’s a desk and daybed with very nice mattress (and now a trundle too with another mattress) for sleeping or just napping or reading in the wam winter sun. Did I mention it has the most wonderful windows and views.? The other two bedrooms have good quality mattresses as well. Most vintage houses have some quirkiness which I think makes them charming; this one is no exception; lots of small cute closets but no walk-in here. The kitchen has its original stainless sink with built in drain board but with a new pull-out faucet. There’s a dishwasher, trash compactor and to allow openness to dining room, a Jenn-air downdraft gas range. As you can probably tell from the photos there’s two small barstools where you can enjoy conversation and a glass of wine with the one who cooks. The dining room has beautiful built-ins and a wonderful table. Again, lovely views of a most beautiful neighborhood just outside the windows. The living room is roomy but cozy with our favorite comfy sectional, old antiques, inoperable fireplace with tiny lights and a huge TV. We have acquired tons of old classical books which line the shelves there also; they are all listed for sale on Amazon but rarely sell so feel free to gently enjoy them knowing I may need to bug you should I have to ship one. When we bought the house many years ago it had huge storefront single pane windows on each side, And though I loved the light it sort of felt like an aquarium. I figured replacing them with glassblock would help with energy efficiency while still allowing the light but with added privacy. And we wouldn’t have a major patch job either. The sunny front porch is huge with vintage chairs and potted plants and the perfect start to a delightful and safe walk around our lovely tree-lined neighborhood. BY BOOKING AND PAYING FOR A RESERVATION IN ANY OF MY HOMES, you are confirming you have read and are agreeing with EVERYTHING I have disclosed below. IF YOU DO NOT AGREE AND INTEND TO HONOR IT ALL please do not book. Whole house and yards Always available should you need anything; we live close by. Beautiful older established and highly sought-after neighborhood on tree-lined street. Safe, friendly and within walking distance of Turlock‘s amazing downtown with great shopping, renowned restaurants and wonderful coffee shops. Below is a quick synopsis of the 9 private vintage homes we currently offer on Airbnb. As you probably noticed, all start with the letter C though I’m starting to run out of accurate and creative titles starting with that letter! But first, for some reason our homes do not always show up on Airbnb‘s location map and the house locations are NOT accurate so I will send exact address, directions and helpful tips to finding yours about 30 minutes before you plan to arrive. And if I can’t personally meet and greet you there, I’ll also send self check-in instructions, so regardless, please message me again when you’re 30 min away from downtown Turlock. (THANK YOU in advance for not showing up early; it sort of freaks out the housekeepers.) All homes are private, have been recently renovated and I’ve tried to make each unique with vintage items of interest. But because they were all built in the (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ’s they have some quirks... I mean character:) All are located within three very safe, lovely and established tree-lined blocks; 2 are on Cahill Ave, 1 on E Marshall St, 6 on Sycamore St and 1 on Merritt St; all within the (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) blocks; each an easy and delightful walk to Turlock’s wonderful revitalized downtown where you’ll find awesome restaurants, bars and great shopping all with free-parking. Some are back houses and though they are legal and have their own address, keep in mind deliveries such as door dash aren’t always possible. Also, know up front... though our neighborhood is very safe, soon each will have exterior security cameras covering parking and entry doors hopefully keeping the dishonest at a distance:) We live right in the middle of them; have since (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) It’s where we’ve added on twice to a small 2 bed/1 bath as our kids came along and then starting in (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) bought, restored and then rented out many homes/cottages nearby as they became available. Our oldest son and myself have lovinly renovated each trying to keep original wood floors and unique built-ins while adding keyless entry deadbolts, energy efficient and noise reducing windows, efficient central heat+air, subway tile, stainless appliances, inside laundry (unless otherwise noted) ceiling fans, fast wireless internet, smart TV’s as well as lush yards with lovely landscaping, comfy quiet outside spaces, automatic sprinkler systems and private fencing but no garage space. All are kid and animal-friendly for an additional cleaning fee. But please keep in mind, because I’m a bleach-freak, all homes have very nice white bedding and towels (as you can probably tell from the photos) which dirty hands and paws can stain. Replacement costs will be passed on to guest. As our tenants moved on, we have turned each available house into a unique and very nice fully-furnished Airbnb as it’s not a good time to be a landlord in California. So please don’t ask if we’ll rent to you outside Airbnb. Here they are listed by size: •••Cute: tiny STUDIO back house with twin bunk bed/full futon, shower, small private yard off safe dirt alley with a personal off-street parking space 50 yards away. SUMMARY: All homes have recently been renovated and restored to their (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ’s charm with original wood floors, French doors, built-ins, subway tile, but with modern conveniences such as duel-pane windows/French doors, ceiling fans, a few whole house attic fans, stainless gas appliances (tiny house is electric) and fast wireless internet with smart TVs and convenient keyless entires. The two largest 3 bedroom homes (Classic and Charming) are on comer lots with lots of on-street and driveway parking; they have master bedrooms with king beds, en-suite bathrooms, smart TVs and French doors to furnished outside living spaces; all the others have queen beds though Chic Cahill Cottage has a double/full in its second smaller bedroom. Our bedding/towels are quality white cotton blends that we can sanitize well with bleach between guests but can also be easily stained by pets and kids so keep that in mind when booking. They all have free private parking, great neighbors, unique architectural aspects and interesting vintage items like non-operable radios, record players and/or TVs as well as comfortable covered outside lounging areas of different sizes with ashtrays provided. All are pet-friendly but please check house rules as there are steep fees in place should they be disregarded. We can provide bikes or you can easily walk to our beautifully restored downtown or along a wonderful paved and safe bike path heading East toward the country right past a Starbucks, ice cream and sandwich shop and a higher-end very nice grocery store called Village Fresh. Keep going and depending on the season, you’ll come to a pumpkin patch/corn maze, ice-skating rink or Christmas tree lot. There’s also a bus line just a few blocks away. BECAUSE OF THE OLD SOFT WOOD FLOORS AND BECAUSE WE ALL LIKE TO LIVE ON NICE CLEAN AREA RUGS, YOU WILL BE ASKED TO REMOVE YOUR SHOES WHEN INSIDE. IF THAT IS A PROBLEM, PLEASE DONT BOOK THIS HOUSE. This place is really fit for 5 persons; a 6th may be allowed for extra fee. EXTRA PERSONS, KIDS AND ANIMALS including most breeds of adult dogs (NO CATS or PUPS under 2yrs old please); $50/night, $100/week or $200/month per animal cleaning fee or extra person fee BUT please message me first with age of child/breed of dog BEFORE booking. A $ (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) depending on length of stay) fully-refundable deposit may be requested before arrival as Airbnb does not cover animal or kid-related damages. That is different than the additional per animal cleaning fee which is not refundable. SERVICE ANIMALS: As per Airbnb‘s terms of service we are happy to welcome you and your service animal. Is the assistance animal required because of a disability? What work or task has the animal been trained to preform? We have strict guidelines for those who would like to bring their service animal: -They are NOT allowed to be left alone in the home or yard unattended at any time; not even in a crate. You must take the animal with you anytime you leave the house. -The guest remains liable for any and all damages caused by their service animal. -You and your service animal will be asked to leave if we discover misrepresentation of a pet as a service animal. We will report fraudulent claims of service animals to government authorities and evict guest(s) without issuing a refund. IF YOU SHOW UP WITH ANY EXTRA PERSON(s) NOT ON RESERVATION OR PET WITHOUT FIRST CLEARING IT WITH ME, YOUR RESERVATION WILL BE CANCELED AND NO REFUND GIVEN. Sorry to be so strict, but there have been way too many dishonest people, parties/gatherings too large for our old plumbing to properly handle. And animals are NOT allowed on property without prior permission. PLEASE FORGIVE ME IN ADVANCE FOR ALL THE QUESTIONS I MAY ASK; I put a lot of time and money into my places and first want to make sure it’s a good fit. My husband thinks I’m crazy for allowing them but I believe there are responsible furbaby parents out there that love to travel with their animals, appreciate a very nice place and are willing to pay for that option. If that’s not you please look for another home. PLEASE NOTE: you may have noticed in the photos that our bedding and towels are pure white; I’m a bleach freak and love to offer nice and extra clean bedding and towels. So if you allow your kids to eat+drink or your dogs up on the furniture or beds, I suggest you bring your own sheets or blanket to cover and protect ours. Most stains come out when laundered with bleach, however dirt from muddy paws and makeup usually don’t for some reason and the cost to replace will be passed on to the guest. ONE LAST THING: please do not bath your dog in our tub or shower; their hair is tough on our old plumbing. There’s a pet store in town where you can do that for free. ***ADDITIONAL “HOUSE RULES” and FEES if BROKEN: (sorry, I know these seem too strict and unnecessary but Airbnb says I need to post them here AND on wall in houses with fees if broken so there’s full-disclosure and those who disregard them can be charged) -NO SMOKING or pot inside $350 -NO PARTIES or unauthorized events $500 -NO UNREGISTERED/UNDECLARED EXTRA GUESTS OR ANIMALS on property; $50 each plus reservation will be canceled and no refund given. -IF YOU ARE AUTHORIZED TO BRING AN ANIMAL please do not leave it unattended. -MAKE A MESS PLEASE CLEAN IT UP. Excessively dirty additional cleaning fee $100 -LATE CHECKOUT $150 -LATE ARRIVAL $150 (please note checkin window and let me know if you need an exception before booking. Some places are hard to find in the dark and others are quirky and require that I meet you there and I go to bed early! NO THIRD PARTY BOOKINGS; the person who books must stay and arrive first. There may be some exceptions allowed so don’t hesitate to ask before booking. BROKEN HOUSE RULES will cause reservation to be canceled without refund. You will then be asked to leave or charged with trespassing. NO OUTSIDE SHOES INSIDE; please remove at door. ONLY TOILET PAPER IN TOILET USE WHITE TOWELS on clean hands, bodies and dishes ONLY; old work towels with X are left in laundry area for messes. There are also now black “makeup” wash clothes available. NO VIDEO OR PHOTOGRAPHY on property without permission WE HAVE THE RIGHT to immediately enter house to remedy an issue you say is not right. In addition, if house is unable to be rerented because of smoke, smell or damage, because additional cleaning is needed because you broke house rule(s) you will also be required to pay for the lost revenue. JUST ASK:) If our check-out and/or check-in times are inconvenient, don’t hesitate to request an earlier check-in or a later check-out. Many times we have 4 to 5 Airbnb’s with same day changeovers and that’s daunting for my housekeepers. If they have a normal day then we’d be happy to try and accommodate you a bit earlier or even let you hang out a bit longer (1 hour max on each end) Otherwise, thank you in advance for understanding and honoring our posted check-in and check-out times. STAYING SATURDAY NIGHT? Consider taking advantage of our SUNDAY SPECIAL… if that night is still available. Slow down, sleep in and stay until as late as 3pm for an additional $50(0-1 bed) $75(2-2.5 bed) or $100(3-4 bed). Just need to know by 8pm Saturday so I can block off Sunday night and make arrangements with the housekeepers. I’ll then send you a payment request through Airbnb’s resolution center so you can used your preferred method of payment. There’s a 1 NIGHT MINIMUM BUT A 30 DAY MAXIMUM currently in the booking setup. You can reserve multiple months but will need to book each separately and pay for an additional cleaning for each which we will then do at your convenience. This works best for us maintaining our homes and most guests appreciate the monthly cleaning and bed change but feel free to appeal if you don’t :) ACTUAL ADDRESS WILL BE SENT 30 minutes before check-in. Our homes do not show up accurately on Airbnb‘s location map so message again then and I will send exact address, directions and helpful tips on where to park about 30 minutes before you plan to arrive. (You can put “Downtown Turlock” in GPS, but if this might cause anxiety, please don’t book; it’s how we do extra deep-cleaning and make sure outside living spaces are ready for guests without disturbing them.) And if I can’t personally meet and greet you there, I’ll also send self check-in instructions, so regardless, PLEASE message or text me again when you’re 30 min away from Downtown Turlock. (THANK YOU in advance for not showing up early; it sort of freaks out the housekeepers.) FREIGHT TRAINS: if you’re not familiar with downtown Turlock (as well as most Central Valley towns) there are trains that run day and night. Those that live here don’t even notice their warning whistles however others especially guests might. Some think it’s fun and nostalgic yet others are awakened by the unfamiliar noise. AMENITIES MOST KITCHENS have beyond the basics and are stocked for cooking. However, we also offer other items to those who request them first. (If you see any of the following items in a listing and/or in photos, please know that they may be kept at that house but can be requested then moved to another) There’s: -bbqs: 1 small electric grill, 4 stainless gas grills -electric crock pot -large and small rice cooker, -3 coffee making options: American drip, French press, and Keurig. -citrus juicer, bullet blender, waffle maker, pizza baking stone, George Foreman grill -some baby items including high chairs, gate, bath and toys -large serving bowls and platters, All are free of charge to use but this list can change anytime so if your heart is set on any of the above please inquire and reserve. MINUT has been installed in each of our homes; it offers protection against break-ins but it doesn’t invade privacy. It also monitors, noise, humidity/mold risk, temperature and automatically sends notifications when any are excessive. Please do not tamper with the unit or an alarm will sound and notification sent. We also ask in a time of rolling brown and blackouts that you not lower air conditioner thermostat below 74 or set heater above 70 degrees. SECURITY CAMERAS with recording devices are installed outside in parking and entrance areas only at all our properties. If they are disabled you will be asked to leave immediately and without refund. Crime is not a problem in our neighborhood unless you accidentally leave your vehicle unlocked with tools or valuables inside. Hopefully these cameras will be a good deterrent to any illegal activity. Speaking of which, no ILLEGAL ACTIVITY will be tolerated; COPS WILL BE CALLED AND YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IMMEDIATELY AND WITHOUT REFUND. PRICES are set by another company and they change often. I do not set nightly rates.
