Welcome to The Lookout at Buckeye Lake! We stumbled upon this cozy cottage in the summer of 2018 and spent the next 12 months renovating the dream Buckeye Lake getaway. Our first project was an off-grid cabin featured on DIY Network’s Building Off The Grid. We took inspiration from that design to transform The Lookout into the perfect place to unwind and enjoy the lake. Located just 3 miles off I70, and walking distance to neighborhood favorite Papa Boos. What drew us to this project outside of the perfect location was the beauty of the original part of the house -- the now dining room & galley kitchen. 5-inch cut pine tongue & groove walls and ceiling, extra wide windows and cozy gas fireplace create the feeling of escaping to an upscale summer-camp cabin. Our favorite spaces in the house include a large harvest dining table for family feasts, a full basement with bar, and the 50-ft wide deck with lake views overlooking one of the most popular lakeside restaurants in the area. The galley kitchen features white oak countertops and open shelving, electric glass top range, undermount fridge & ice maker (there is an additional fridge / freezer in the lower level for longer stays), large double bowl sink (no dishwasher) with garbage disposal, plates and flatware for 8, pots & pans for cooking and open pantry storage. The space comfortably sleeps six in the three bedrooms, but there is also space in the common areas and basement (futon, air mattress, pack & play) to accommodate friends and family for a longer stay. Dock space as well as two one-person kayaks with lifejackets are available for guests to rent. Please inquire for rates. We live a short distance away in Columbus, but are always available via text. Located within walking distance of two of the lake’s best restaurant / bars, both with patio seating. Five minute drive from grocery, coffee shop, cocktail bar and several local restaurants.
