England's Retreat, Private, Secluded, & Serene

Private, peaceful, secluded getaway! Every season brings a new experience. If you are looking to "disconnect", you've found the perfect place! Enjoy the soft, sweet melodies of the songbirds as you sit on the porch swing enjoying a cup of coffee, or sit around the fire pit gazing at the stars at night. Raise the window and falls asleep to the sounds of the water gently running down the branch in the woods just off from the house. We're close to the Pinnacles and other popular hiking areas! England's Retreat is a cozy, home away from home! Gated property! We're in the woods, no cell phone service! The property is accessible from the main road a half mile down a gravel lane that goes through two other properties to our gate. Two resident, Great Pyrenees live on, guard, and patrol the property. They will bark at predators during the night. There is one bedroom with a queen bed and a love-seat that has a twin/full size pull out bed that can sleep one to two people. Guests can park in the drive way. Parking in the front yard is not permitted, due to the risk of damaging the septic system for the house. Guests are welcome to walk out the lane from the main road and out to our saw mill. There are laminated maps available in the Retreat for guest use of popular hiking trails and points of interest in the areas near England's Retreat. The Pinnacles is a very popular hiking area! There is an operational sawmill on the property at the end of the lane. There may be a log truck or a customer come through , but not often. You will still have a peaceful and quiet stay. Three Links is a beautiful and quiet neighborhood. The lane is gravel and does have occasional places with pot holes. Three Links is located in a rural area, with long, winding, curvy roads that can be challenging to drivers at night, but has some beautiful views to enjoy as you travel to your destination during the day. We are just 25 to 30 minutes away from Berea, Mount Vernon, Renfro Valley, and I-75. There are many tourist attractions in Jackson and the surrounding counties. Flat Lick Falls, Renfro Valley Entertainment Center, Old Town Berea and shops around Boone Tavern. Kayaking in Livingston and many other fun and excited things to do. The area you are traveling to is NOT GPS FRIENDLY! If you do not include England's Retreat with the address in the GPS app you are using YOU WILL GET SENT TO THE WRONG LOCATION. You'll coming to a rural area with long winding, curvy roads, and it's highly recommended you arrive before dark. Step-by-step driving instructions have been provided on this listing from our first day on this site, for guests who have confirmed reservations. It is highly recommended that you print those off. The directions are for those driving down I-75 coming from the north or the south. Cell phone service ends at the bottom of Big Hill, Kentucky on Hwy 421 in Madison County. You will not have cell phone service at the retreat. There are two Great Pyrenees that lives and runs loose on the property. If you’re not a dog lover this may not be the place for you. They guard the property and it’s their nature to bark at night. No Smoking and No Pet Policy: As a courtesy to other guests who have respiratory issues or allergies we do not allow smoking or pets. ZERO TOLERANCE: Alcoholic Beverages, Drugs, Fireworks, Firearms... We do not allow alcohol, drugs, firearms, fireworks or parties on the property and ask that guests please respect this request. England's Retreat is not responsible for accidents, injuries, or lost and stolen property.
