Rustic Deer Lake Boathouse ‘Glamping’ perfection!

Everyone in our family is fully vaccinated. Our goal is to provide a safe, peaceful break full of relaxation and fun. Our studio space is unique and fully stocked with anything you might need - our way of caring for you. Deer Lake is a quiet 163-acre lake perfect for relaxing getaways. A lakeside fire pit, hot tub, beautiful 4 poster bed & more. OUTDOOR portable toilet with motion-activated lights for night time visits & our unique OUTDOOR showering facilities with a sink. The Boathouse is the ultimate ‘glamping’ (glamour camping) space! Relax on the couch, look out of the French doors to see a beautiful lake view complete with a firepit area with supplied firewood. The cozy studio space is wonderfully inviting with red brick walls, open rafters to the vaulted ceiling, and lots of charm! A beautiful four-poster queen-sized bed will help you relax, cuddle and snooze while listening to the birds in the trees and rain on the roof (weather permitting). Cool weather? We have a 50,000 BTU propane gas heater in the boathouse to warm it up for Airbnb guests any time of year. The front has a 'fire-like' look to add to the cozy ambiance. Warm weather? An oscillating fan & a whole house fan to pull the hot air off the ceiling and a small window air conditioner all to make you more comfortable. Our unique OUTDOOR bathroom facilities have a fun twist that makes the experience ‘rustic.’ PLEASE NOTE- ‘1/2 bath’ includes our OUTDOOR shower and portable OUTDOOR potty. The OUTDOOR shower is attached to the main house. Please see the pictures that accompany our listing. This is as close as we could come to an accurate description ~! Trust us, ‘Glamping’ ROCKS! Finally- if need be, you are always welcome inside our home to use our facilities -just ask. During warm weather... Our outdoor shower with porcelain sink, displayed ‘art’ and solar-powered mood lighting (so you can see easily in the darkness) for nighttime can’t be missed. Our guests agree that rustic ‘glamping’ with outdoor showering (attached to the main house) in this space is unexpectedly wonderful, liberating, and beautiful. All-weather... We have contracted to with the ‘Mini Biff’ outdoor potty company that is completely serviced ONCE per week. This includes a complete wipe down and fresh holding tank water, chemicals, etc. We have motion detector lights so that you won’t be in the dark no matter the time of day. Solar lights outside make it easy to navigate your way after dark. The Deer Lake Public Boat Access is right next to our property to easily launch and land your boat. You are welcome to tie up your craft to our dock during your stay. We have a canoe and a kayak to use as well as various life jackets & a swimming raft. Enjoy the fire-pit and firewood, large family sized rustic picnic table, PROPANE gas grill, tetherball, corn hole game, croquet & a hammock. You also have access to our well-loved hot tub. The stars make for a breathtaking scene during a nighttime soak- especially the colder the weather becomes. We are available to be of assistance when you need something or our help. We don't mind mingling with you if you like -we have been accused of being very friendly! Ultimately, our guests set the tone and amount of interaction they would like. We are one-half mile from Deer Lake Apple Orchard on County Road 108 in Marysville Township. Our property ends at a small fishing bridge that spans the entrance to the crow river system. Directly on the other side of the bridge is a handy public boat landing! You need a car to enjoy Buffalo and the surrounding area. The dock is very nice, sturdy and complete with two fun heavy wooden Adirondack chairs for you to rest in while you fish, drink your morning coffee or sip a cocktail and read your favorite novel. Some of the wildlife you may see and enjoy: swans, pelicans, mergansers. geese, hummingbirds, and more. You might even see jumping fish right off of the dock... Our honeymooners from last Spring caught the following fish off of the dock: sunnies, bass, walleye, catfish, northern pike, and various panfish. We so love this place we are lucky enough to call home. Airbnb has provided us the perfect vehicle to share it with all of you. We can’t wait for you to get here:) You will need to have your own vehicle in order to get around easily in the Buffalo. You can bike into town, the bike path starts about a half mile from our place. Or, once in town, you could decide to park and ride bikes around town:) Downtown Events: Occasional Shops are open weekends for antique and vintage shopping. Check out the special events to celebrate the spring and summer on the lake and at Sturges Park, within 2 miles from the Boathouse. Stop at Buffalo Books & coffee for a new reading treasure, coffee, or get a caramel roll at BJ's deli. Pick up fresh sandwiches for a picnic from The Loaf & Ladle & then walk a few blocks to the Parkshore Pavillion to rent kayaks, paddleboats or a pontoon (call for reservations). A produce/flower stand is open throughout the summer across from the fountain on Buffalo Lake with fantastic seasonal delights. Saturday mornings the Buffalo Farmer's Market is open featuring bread, cheeses, fresh produce, artists, sometimes banjo bands- ukeleles, doggie delicacies, across from the downtown movie theater. Finish your evening by heading to Hayes Public House for a local beer or to Evelyn's Wine Bar & Bistro. If you want more choices, a short drive away you will find two golf courses, Detroit-style pizza, Cider House No 12 (at Deer Lake apple orchard- just a half mile away), antique shops galore, mini golf & a variety of restaurants (sushi, Chinese, two new ice cream shops and two wonderful authentic Mexican offerings just to name a few) . *IF YOU ARE NEW TO AIRBNB, it may be helpful to know, reviews are VERY important in the Airbnb community. Consider bringing along a tie-out system so they can relax outside without you needing to worry if they will wander off.
