19th Century Victorian Style Home - St. Croix Room

This clean and comfortable house is a very spacious 19th Century Victorian style home. The architecture is beautiful and original tin ceilings from 1897 grace the kitchen and dining area. Guests may enjoy a large deck overlooking the gardens and tea, coffee, cereal, fruit, muffins or bagels are available for my guests in the morning. A quiet serenity envelopes this property and there are walking trails along the waterfront. This home is close to the USA border crossing and is open year round! This comfortable house sits on almost a half acre and is surrounded by gardens in the summer. It is not uncommon to see deer present on the property early evening and 'Brutus' the squirrel jumping from branch to branch. This is a safe environment and very peaceful. I am certain you will enjoy the privacy and serenity. There is one bedroom (queen-size bed) available in a very large and private section of the upstairs with an adjacent private bathroom in the hallway. There is also a study room which can be used as a work space (laptop etc) or to store extra luggage. On the main level there is a kitchen and dining area where tea and coffee, juice, toast, cereal, bagels, fruit, etc. are available for guests in the morning and where a refrigerator is present for storing food, cold beverages etc. On the main level, as you step outside, there is a very large deck. You are more than welcome to utilize this space, overlooking the gardens, for morning coffee, for reading a good book, or for taking some photos. Brutus, the large, friendly gray squirrel is usually around, scurrying up a tree or just chasing his girlfriend!! The wifi is FibreOp and it is more than sufficient. I am certain you will enjoy your stay in this very relaxed and peaceful environment. I will keep you informed of any events happening around the area, give tips on things to do, and suggestions on where to eat. I will socialize with my guests if they would like to with the hope that such will make their experience unique and welcoming! The neighborhood is very safe, in fact I am across the street from the local RCMP department and the Canadian customs and border control is within walking distance There are taxis in St.Stephen but I would recommend having a rental car or bringing your own car. Walking and cycling are also popular means of transport. The bedroom (s) is on the second floor. There is a cat living in the house whose name is Charlotte. She likes to hide when guests arrive so is seen rarely. She is very gentle!
