Essie's Room

Essie's Room is located off the stair case going to the kitchen. The custom built and detailed iron bed was made by Brian and Linda in the carriage house studio. The room includes a night stand, dresser and clothes closet. The bathroom has a clawfoot tub with shower. Essie’s room is a peaceful place that just makes you feel good. While it is the smallest of all the rooms at the Broad Street Manor it is first to smell the fresh coffee or even the smell of some delightful baked treat from Linda's kitchen You will have use of the main living room, the sun room and media room. Breakfast will be available and also has its own dedicated television circuit. This area is off limits after 9 pm each evening. We have a strong WiFi signal so having a good connection is not a problem. Your hosts are always on the premises. There could be the odd acceptation where we run a short errand. Our policy is to be available and all times during rental periods Broad Street has many 100+ year old homes that have been restored or are going through the reservation process. Our house was built around 1868 and was a Stocks home from Stocks Milling Company. You are a short walk to several restaurants and other small shops in the downtown area. The walk up the is less than a mile to Hillsdale College. Having a car will be a good thing to use to get around. Most of the surrounding area of Hillsdale is rural agriculture. There are several orchards and during Broad Street us a main Michigan highway that comes through Hillsdale. It can be noisy at times with the truck traffic but we are used to it and really don't hear. Generally that type of traffic is during daylight business hours.
