Raven's Nest: Steps to Downtown/Cozy Historic Home

Our comfortable two bedroom home is entirely yours during your stay. Step back into history with modern comforts, and step out to explore the town. Enjoy a home full of character, with exposed stone walls for a true feeling of old West Chester. This cozy home was built in 1850 and still holds much of its original character, including stone walls and pumpkin pine flooring. We have so much love for this little place, and it strives to be your home-away-from-home. At 1000 sq ft, 2 bedrooms, and 3 stories, it's roomy for a couple and spacious enough to accommodate a small family or group. First floor: Living room with queen sofabed, Dining room, Kitchen, and deck. Second floor: Bedroom 1 with full bed, TV with cable and Chromecast, and closet. Bathroom with shower, hair dryer, essentials. Third floor: Bedroom 2 with full bed, TV (Chromecast), closet, and skylights. Air conditioning is provided (seasonally) on all 3 floors. With discussion, one well-trained dog could be allowed. There is a fenced yard. There is a $50 pet fee per stay. A pet-sitting service is available upon request. Foodies love WC! So many restaurants to choose from. Just walk out the door, and explore! Just a couple miles outside of West Chester is a beautiful countryside, wildlife preserves, and trails. Things to consider before booking: This home has a built-in spiral staircase leading to the 2nd and third floors. Please consider when booking with small children or others who may have difficulty with steps. This home is small (and that's why we love it!) Max guests is set at 4 because we care about your comfort (and our neighbors). Please take into consideration any guests of tall stature, since the 2nd floor hallway has a low beam where the bathroom connects. We have neighbors on both sides of the (attached) home, and both have small, friendly dogs. (Our neighbors are friendly, too!) If you're okay with all of the above, we're happy to host you! Street parking with guest pass for 1 car. There is also a lot across the street that is free from 5pm - 8am weekdays, and free all day on weekends. Monday 8-11am: No street parking to allow for street cleaners. Free street parking. Free wifi access throughout. Smart TV in living room that is Netflix-ready with local cable. Streaming video in both bedrooms with Chromecast. For sleeping arrangements, please make sure this works for your party: each bedroom has 1 full-sized bed. Each bed easily sleeps 2. There is also a queen sofa bed in the living room and extra sheets in the closet. We offer a fully equipped kitchen, Keurig coffee, electric range, dishwasher, washer/dryer, guest towels, and robes. Also enjoy an outside deck and brick patio. Or cozy up with a book from our free library (take one/leave one). All waters, wine, beer, and snacks are for you to enjoy. You will have access to empty dressers and closets in both bedrooms to store your belongings. We can be as available as you need for dinner and entertainment suggestions. We're usually right in town, so will be reachable and responsive. Otherwise, you'll enjoy your privacy. We love walking the town! Everything you need is in walking distance. Groceries (Carlino's), pharmacy, dry cleaners, breakfast, lunch, and dinner! WC Grower's Market is Saturdays from 9-1 pm from May-December, and 10-Noon for Winter Market. Cyclists! The West Chester Cycling Club leaves from the parking lot in the front our house each weekend. Chester County is a wonderful place to bike, and our next door neighbor is happy to guide you on a daytime ride during the week. Just ask and we can set it up. 1 block to downtown West Chester and all of the great restaurants, shops, & bars Blocks to WCU 8 miles to Longwood Gardens 20 miles to the King of Prussia mall 10 minutes to Brandywine Battlefield and many other historic sites 10 minutes to Exton train station 30 minutes to Amish country / Lancaster, PA 45 minutes to Philadelphia Int'l airport 1 hour to Center City, Philly 1 hour to 30th Street Train Station (Amtrak & SEPTA) in Philadelphia 25-30 minutes to Wilmington, DE 2 hours North to New York City 2.5 hours South to Washington DC Septa bus runs from West Chester to surrounding areas. We charge $100 fine for lost parking pass. Dogs: $50 flat fee per well-trained pup. A pet-sitting service is available upon request - just ask!
