Rustic barn formerly used for textiles manufacturing & converted to a modern, luxurious Catskills getaway! Sits at the base of Panther Mtn in Big Indian on 5 acres of private land & across from Creek swimming. 11mi to Phoenicia-8 to Belleayre-2 to Full Moon. 2 beds, 2 baths w/gourmet kitchen & grand, open living room. TRX gym system queen (master) bedroom. Shampoo, conditioner, and bath soap provided. Epsom salt and essential oils for use in the claw foot bathtub. Washer and dryer available for use. Gas range and oven, dishwasher, microwave, toaster oven, juicer, blender, food processor, stand (dough) mixer, hand mixer, cookware, and serving dishes all included for guest use. Sonos sound system for streaming music in every room; record collection (including lots of older jazz, blues, swing, and classic oldies) can also be played through the system. We've received a few questions about A/C - it's not needed! This region of the Catskills is usually about 10 degrees cooler than the city, and because of the open barn layout, we find that the house stays cool and comfortable (a max. in the low 70s), even in mid-summer. For our guests' comfort, there are fans in every room. Sorry, no pets allowed. No smoking allowed on property. Shoes off inside, please! Guests will be able to access two large bedrooms and two bathrooms. The main living space has a gourmet kitchen, island with bar stools, a table that seats 8, and a seating area around the wood burning fireplace stove. Outside there is casual seating for 4 and a fire pit (spring through early autumn only). In addition, the property sits on 5.5 acres of land and is near by to great hiking, restaurants, swimming, tubing, and skiing. This is a new listing, but you can be confident we've planned every detail to make your stay as pleasant as possible! :) Big Indian is a hamlet in the town of Shandaken, New York. Our home is in the lovely Oliverea Valley portion of Big Indian. Feel free to wander the property and up the cleared path on the hillside at your own risk, as hillside is steep and can be slippery. You can reach the Esopus Creek across the street for a dip of you are feeling adventurous – but please be respectful of neighbors and private property. Giant Ledge and Panther Mountain trail-head is just a short drive away. 11 miles to Phoenicia, 3 miles to Peekamoose Restaurant, 5 miles to Pine Hill, 25 to Woodstock, 2.5 to Full Moon Resort. 2.5 miles from nearest drop off spot for New York Trailways bus.
