Approximately two hours from the GW bridge - this beautiful country home is set on an acre of Delaware River waterfront land. The house features a full kitchen, a large dining room, and two porches that overlook the Delaware. Watch the eagles, warm up by the fireplace, ski, hike, fish, canoe, swim, eat and laze about. With hi-speed cable and WiFi, tons of space inside and out, this house is perfect for a getaway, staycation, or for families and couples looking to remote-work. This Adirondack-style house was created out of an old Delaware River cabin (the foundation of which forms the base of the current kitchen and dining room). The house was substantially renovated approximately 30 years ago; the entire roof was vaulted 15 feet creating a dramatic ceiling in the living room (approximately 20 feet) which extends from the lofted second floor through the glass windows outside to the main sitting porch overlooking the river. The riverside wall of the living room is covered primarily in glass, framing an incredible view of the trees and the Delaware River. With the windows open or while sitting on the river porch, it feels like you are sitting high up in the forest riverside. While summer, spring and fall are all incredible times to visit, the fireside views from the living room in winter are amazing (see later photos in listing). The lower yard, which is accessible by a stone walk way and winding path, is another great place to spend time enjoying the view and the river sounds. Five Adirondack chairs (and two chaise lounges) are set in a semi-circle ring around a metal fire pit. The lower deck is located immediately riverside, just below the fence down a path accessible from the lower yard. Immediately riverside there are swaths of open grass "beach" and massive river rocks to relax on. Discounts and washer/dryer access available for longer term stays. Guests will have full access to the house, with the exception of two owners' closets and the basement. We will consider giving access to the washer and dryer for longer term stays. We are reachable by phone and email and a trusted manager of the property is located nearby to assist if any issues arise during your stay. Due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations. With views of the Delaware River off the cozy back porch, you won’t want to leave, but the Cochecton Fire Station is just across the nearby Cochecton bridge - perfect for takeout cocktails, wine, and wonderful food. The location is only accessible by car, but buses travel from NYC to Monticello, and train service from NYC is available in Port Jervis. *Landers River Trips is located close by at Skinner's Falls. Landers will rent canoes, tubes, kayaks and rafts and will assist in planning any river trip for you. *Elk Mountain, Ski Big Bear at Masthope and Villa Roma are closest for skiing. *Bethel Woods is 15 minutes away. *The Lodge at Woodloch (spa) is 30 minutes away. *A pack-and-play and bassinet are available for use at the house. *Please note that cell service works at the house for a number of carriers (Verizon is best), but may be spotty for others; wireless is available. *There is a 3 night minimum for holiday weekends.
