Peaceful home near Lake Taghkanic

There is nothing more peaceful than being unplugged and sitting outside watching the world go by. Then again there are still lots of places to go and things to do here in Columbia County. Either way you'll have a great time!! Hi! Welcome to our peaceful home. This two bedroom ranch is up a hill, out of sight, and ready to make you feel at home. Here you will be able to lounge around, inside or out, and use it as a jumping off point to all the wonderful things the Hudson Valley area has to offer. Our home is located in southern Columbia County in a tiny little town called Gallatin. We are near Ancram and Pine Plains. We are absolutely in the middle of nowhere. We have two bedrooms of equal size. One bedroom has a king bed, the other a bunk bed and a twin bed with a trundle. Both rooms have big closets and lots of drawers. There is a piano in the living room and comfy furniture to lounge on. We have a wood stove to keep you warm. The house is complete with all kitchen utensils, towels, sheets, pillows, blankets, and books and games. We have a binder full of info on where things are in the house and instruction booklets for things like the coffee maker and other gadgets. There is a washer and dryer available. We have table and chairs on the porch as well as lawn furniture and a gas grill. There is no cable or internet service and cell service is spotty. We do have a TV and DVD player and VCR. We are a three mile walk to Lake Taghkanic State Park, about 18 miles to Catamount Ski Area, 28 miles to Butternut, 16 miles to downtown Hudson, 20 miles to Rhinebeck, and 25 miles to Great Barrington. There are a million great places to visit here and we have two binders full of with info on many of the places you can enjoy nearby. Please be aware that occasionally it may not be possible to drive up the driveway in winter. Last year it happened twice and the year before just once, but it does happen. We have a space at the bottom of the driveway for you to safely park and there are sleds available to pull things up and down should you need to (Website hidden by Airbnb) We are happy to answer your questions as I am sure we are leaving something out! All we ask is for you to please respect our home and treat it as your own. We are open to well behaved pets. but before booking please contact us and tell us a little about your pet and his breed and be aware that we do have a leash law. Please, absolutely no smoking anywhere on the property. Thanks! The house and yard are completely available for you to enjoy. We are always available by phone but will not disturb your visit unless necessary.
