Sarah Lawrence College is also a short walk. Enjoy privacy with two small rooms, your own entrance and small private bathroom. The bathroom fixtures are old but functional. please do not expect a rainfall shower head or vast shower, this used to be the servant's quarters when the house was built. There is a double bed in the bedroom, a single bed in the living area which doubles as a couch. Also a table and chairs for eating/working. Excellent wifi, A/C, cable tv. Newly added mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker since Covid arrived. Since Covid entered our lives, we have added a mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker to the room. We no longer share our kitchen space or communal areas. so the space is self sufficient. Interaction is very much up to you. We are social people and really enjoy finding out about our guests. On the other hand, guests are often busy or tired and desire privacy, which we respect. We live and work here, so we are always available to answer questions, and we enjoy doing so. The house is compartmentalized, however, and extremely soundproof, so you are unlikely to hear us or other guests unless you choose to. Bronxville is safe, quiet and pretty. The shops and restaurants are lovely. It is also very easy to get into Manhattan. There are several major malls close by for larger purchases. Sarah Lawrence College is walking distance, just up the hill. We are a five minute walk from the Metronorth train station. (Yes, really five minutes. That's why we bought the house.) Metronorth will take you to Grand Central Station in midtown Manhattan in 30 mins. or north to White Plains in 14 mins. Metronorth is not the same as the subway. A one way, off peak fare from Bronxville to Grand Central is $8. This is an old house we are gradually restoring. There is still much work to be done, so the outside is not pristine yet. It is built on a hill so, alas, is NOT disability friendly. You will need to negotiate steps and/or a STEEPLY sloping path to get into the house. On the plus side, we are the only house on a dead end road, so plenty of free street parking.
