Water Street House – East Suite
Our home is located on the main street of downtown Saint Andrews, just 4 small blocks from the town wharf (about 3 minutes away). It was built in 1810. Our updated 200 year old home has most of the comforts people are accustomed to today. Your private area includes two connected rooms - a king bedroom and sitting room with pull-out couch, plus a bathroom (with tub & shower). The private suite is located on the second floor. It’s bright, spacious, has central heat & air conditioning. Other convenience items are available as well, TV (cable, Netflix, HBO), mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. You also have use of the common area of the home that includes the main floor living room and fully equipped kitchen. Guests have access to the yard, patio furniture and BBQ. Parking is available. We are the third family to own our home. It was originally built in 1810 for loyalist Robert Pagan who owned the home for 59 years. William E. Mallory purchased the home in 1879 and obtained a livery contract with the Canadian Pacific Railway transporting guests and their luggage from the railway station to the Algonquin Hotel (source (Website hidden by Airbnb) We purchased the home in December of 2018. We have three suites in total, if you’d like to see the other suites, please see the links below. South Suite (on our main floor): https://www.airbnb.com/h/watersouth West Suite (second floor): https://www.airbnb.com/h/waterwest In addition to your private suite, you have shared access to the main living room and kitchen. The kitchen has recently been renovated and has a full laundry with the required products. Please let us know if you have any allergies. Although we don’t live in the home, our aunt, Kathy, lives on the third floor and will help us out in case of emergencies. We hope that you will treat our home like you would your own! We love that we’ll be able to share Saint Andrews with you! We’re located just 3 houses away from the water. There is boat launch access from the end of our street. Saint Andrews is a small town but has most of the major things you’ll need including various restaurants, whale watching & sightseeing tours, pharmacy, liquor store, grocery store, gift shops, post office, a Scotia Bank branch and more. If you have children, there is a huge play structure in town that rivals most major city parks! Although you need a car to get to Saint Andrews, once here, it is easy to walk around the town. Virtually everything is less than a 10 minute walk from our home. We love our home but it is over 200 years old, we'd like to stress that with this age there are some things that we can't quite bring up to today's new build standards – for example, the uneven floors and older doors/floors that don't provide complete sound insulation. We like to think of these qualities as 200 year old charm!
