This charming, stand alone cottage was completely renovated to welcome you to the picturesque Hudson Valley. Secluded porch overlooks a peaceful forest. Fast wi-fi, high end mattresses, cozy linens, fully stocked cook's kitchen and gas stove. Located on one of the area's most scenic roads yet close to major highways, Metro-North railroad and Hudson Valley delights. Three Empire State Rail Trail and two Appalachian access points merely 5-10 minute drive. Bring your bikes and walking shoes! Our goal was to create a private retreat where you can recharge after a full day of Hudson Valley activities. Use our comfortable dining room for quiet homecooked meals or drive five minutes to quaint Pawling for a range of outstanding dining choices and a Saturday morning farmer's market. Relax on the porch watching nature while sipping morning coffee or evening cocktails. Master bedroom has blackout blinds and walk-in closet. Iron, ironing board, pack-n-play, board games and lots of armoire space for sofa bed guests. 5-15 minute proximity to multiple activities. Bike the pristine, tranquil Empire State Trail west to the Walkway Over the Hudson State Park or south toward New York City. Hike a portion of the nearby Appalachian Trail National Scenic Trail. Kayak on The Great Swamp. (It sounds ominous, but is spectacular! Bring your own kayak.) Explore early local memorabilia at the Quaker Museum housed in nearby Akin Free Library. Ski at nearby Thunder Ridge. Finish your evening with live music at Daryl's House (as in Daryl Hall of Hall and Oates fame.) Epic day trips abound further afield. Enjoy cuisine of aspiring chefs at the renowned Culinary Institute of America. Picnic on the deck of the Saugerties Lighthouse. Take a cruise on the Hudson River. Wander the great estates of Roosevelt, Vanderbilt, Boscobel, Kykuit, Lyndhurst, Olana and others. Be enriched by a concert at Caramoor. Use a rail vehicle to travel alongside Esopus Creek in the Catskill Mountains with Rail Explorers. Browse the shops of Hudson River towns such as Cold Springs, Beacon or Hudson. Take in the work of an iconic artist at the Norman Rockwell Museum in the Berkshires. Create family memories aboard the Essex Steam Train and Riverboat on the Connecticut River. Explore the mysterious and beautiful Gillette Castle State Park. One stay will not be enough! You will have the entire living area, porch, and native backyard to enjoy. Driveway and side parking provided for up to two cars. The garage space is reserved for maintenance access and not available during your stay. Private check-in via our digitally coded front door with host accessibility via text or e-mail. If you need something, please reach out, but it is our goal that all of your needs and more will be anticipated and filled before you arrive. While Metro-North Railroad is only five minutes away, you will find having a car is essential and gives you the most flexibility. There are two flights of outdoor stairs to reach the living space. Guests with reduced mobility may find this limiting.
