This rare 4-season, 3BR, 2 bath, sits on 1,000 feet of private river frontage on the Brule river (Ashland Lake). The Brule is a famous, spring-fed trout stream. It is noted for it's fishing, kayaking, canoeing, natural beauty & rich history. Sleeps 7. The home is a 1960s architectural gem. It features an open plan with large windows on all sides looking over the heavily wooded, virgin pine forest. The river dock is 50 feet from the house. Three canoes and 2 Kayak are available, and the river is easily navigable in both directions. The kitchen is stocked with basics, spices, herbs, etc. Our caretaker, Ron, will welcome you to the property and will assist you with any problems you may have. The Brule river is one of the most desirable river destinations in the US. It is home to five salmonid species and flows through an uncut natural northern pine forest. It was the once also the Voyageur's highway to the Mississippi and beyond, via the St. Croix River. Must have own transportation. Swimming at the dock, hiking/skiing all around, surrounded by 11 private acres of wooded land. Rec equipment (paddles, seat pads, etc.) in the downstairs closet (key on wall next to downstairs door). Gas grill is on the deck, extra propane in the garage.
