**During covid19 we are asking for a minimum of a one week stay for quiet quest. ** Studio~ private airy space between farmhouse and barn. East facing wall of glass doors allow light and hillside views. A refrigerator, portable kitchen counter island with duo hot plate and toaster oven (light quick cooking)There is an electric tea kettle and French coffee press. Lovely sun and moonrises. Twenty minutes west of Northampton. Rambling organic gardens, fields and forest. Laundry service available. As you enter through your private front door entrance into the Writer's Studio you take off your shoes and leave the outside world behind. This is a private, peaceful space perfect for single retreats. The claw-foot tub is out in the room and has a wand but no stand-up shower. There is a 'Berkeley Ergonomic' organic queen bed. There is a small seating arrangement for dining and a small selection of dishes and cutlery. You will find an electric tea kettle for boiling water, small French press for coffee, and a refrigerator. A portable kitchen counter with storage for a few pots and pans and mixing bowls and your dry food along with a duo hot plate and toaster oven to allow light cooking. The eastern view is beautiful offering sun and moon rises. Small trees in the terrace garden offer food for birds and butterflies, and beauty and privacy for studio guests. Sorry, bath salts cannot be used in tub. Sweeping sky and landscapes surround our 1790 farmhouse. Perfect for quiet artist/writer/nature lover seeking a private contemplative and inspiring getaway into nature only 15 mins from Smith College and Northampton and surrounding hilltowns. You can enjoy exploring our gardens and forest and nearby waterfalls and hiking trails. Our electricity is 100% Solar-powered by a community project. We use only chemical and fragrance free cleaning products and laundry detergents. Seventh Generation (and other eco-friendly) products are used here at Flower Hill Farm Retreat. Our 21 acres of gardens, fields and forest are open to our guests to explore. Flower Hill Farm is home to a diverse wildlife habitat. Birds and butterflies abound — be sure to bring binoculars. Our guests have complete privacy. Carol is available if you need anything. And enjoys running into guests in the gardens @ 6 feet away. ;—)) Flower Hill Farm Retreat is housed within a 1790 farmhouse and studio situated on an east facing hillside fifteen minutes west of Northampton, Massachusetts. Rambling organic gardens, fields and forest surround the retreat and are home to a diverse wildlife habitat. For 21 years Carol and Sean have welcomed guests from around the world. The rustic farmhouse is divided into two very private apartments. Our 'writing studio' is between the farmhouse and barn. All three spaces are air-conditioned. Laundry facilities are available on site by appointment. Let us know of your transportation needs. We might be able to help out. You would need a car or bicycle to be independent. Bikers should know we are up on a hill. 2 miles from bus stop. **At this time we have a one week minimum. All guests must wear masks when outside near other entrances and long term guests. *Sorry we cannot allow pets at this time. We share laundry room (masked please)with guests —fee for eco detergent and *energy costs —*2.50 per wash *2.50 per dryer. Studio laundry (2 loads) Per week will be on designated weekday not used by long term Downstairs guest. Massachusetts has a 5.7% excise tax on stays of 31 days or less. Other Policies Check-in is after 4 p.m. or by appointment. Check-out time is 11 a.m. We ask that you please call a day ahead to confirm your arrival time. Thank you! **There is no smoking in or near any of our apartments, studio or gardens. **We honor the Japanese custom of not wearing shoes inside. Please try to bring slippers or 'indoor only' shoes with soft soles. **We ask that you honor our vegetarian policy. We can discuss special dietary needs.
