Quiet & cozy room, w/ a very comfortable twin Tempurpedic bed & private BR on main floor of a single-family home. The second bed is a trundle w/ memory foam mattress. WiFi/ central air conditioning & heat/FiOS cable TV. Full kitchen use. Coffee/tea available mornings. The neighborhood is quiet, and parking is available in the driveway. Thank you:) *As of mid-September, 2020, we have adopted a cairn terrier. He is hypoallergenic, and will not be in the guest bedroom or bathroom spaces. He is allowed in common spaces such as the kitchen. He loves belly rubs!! Full use of kitchen, guest room, private bath, and backyard. We live in our home full-time, and our bedrooms/bathroom are upstairs. Our guests can come home as late as needed -- we do not hear any noise while we're upstairs. We will be available to answer any questions, offer suggestions, and assist with requests during your stay, but if you'd like peace and quiet during your visit, that is fine with us, too:). Mike works from home (upstairs) during the week, so he is available as needed. We are out and about on weekends. As of spring 2021, Mike and Kate's daughter is in school full-time, and Kate works out of the house full-time. Quiet, residential street, close to main roads and public transportation. There is a grocery store, restaurants, and parks within walking distance. Accessible by local bus and ferry, and 10 min to Palisades Parkway, 20 min to Interstate 87/287 and the Tappan Zee Bridge. Haverstraw downtown is walkable if you are traveling without a car. The Haverstraw ferry is accessible from Ossining, NY. The Metro-North train from Grand Central Station arrives in Ossining (about a 30-40 min ride), and then from there, the Haverstraw ferry brings you to downtown Haverstraw. The ferry is a 15 minute ride across the Hudson River. Our house is 1.6 miles from the ferry terminal. We are happy to arrange pickups with advance notice:) Ferry service is only weekdays. ** Ferry is cancelled for now due to COVID precautions. We are located in Rockland County, NY (about 35 minutes north of NYC). Close to highways for a restful sleep during a long drive, or a great spot for an easy ride into NYC and north Jersey points. We are located within walking distance of local bus stops, and 1.6 miles from the Haverstraw Ferry terminal (easy train access to Grand Central Station). Sandy Hook Park for the beach is less than a 2 hour drive, and close to Harriman State Park for hiking, and Bear Mountain (year round hiking, skating, dining). Haverstraw has great dining options – in the summer, no trip is complete without a Hoyer's ice cream! The river town of Nyack is close by for restaurants, wine bars, cafes, and shops. Enterprise Car Rental is within walking distance, and local taxis are always available. Uber and Lyft are also available.
