Surrounded by hundreds of acres of wild and beautiful forest, this newly built apartment is perfect for a couple or individual looking for a meditative and relaxing environment that's not too far from Asheville. The space is very clean and colorful with unique custom woodwork and big windows and is located at the end of the road in one of the most beautiful coves in the region and biodiverse places on earth. People of all colors and backgrounds are warmly welcomed here The studio has high vaulted ceilings that give it a spacious feeling and the floor is hardwood with colorful rugs throughout. The bathroom is tiny but has a claw foot bathtub with a shower attachment, marble tile, and unlimited hot water. In the kitchen you'll find a 2 burner cookstove, a toaster oven, all the basic kitchen stuff you will need to make your meals, and a smallish round table to eat them at. Beautifully crafted walnut, maple, hemlock, and poplar decorate every possible corner of every room, giving the space a very unique and natural elegance. Guests will have access to the entire apartment, the front and back decks, and the front and back yard. I will be available to offer help throughout your stay. The nearest neighbors are all young homesteader types with amazing skills and stories, but you wont see or hear them from the property. You will hear lots from the non-human neighbors though. This lush forest is filled with the songs of rare birds, owls, crickets, and treefrogs with the only light pollution coming from the moon, stars, and fireflys. There is enough parking space to accomidate 2 cars. The entrance to the apartment is in the front of the house up a few stairs (the only door you will see) Ramp access in the back if you need it. Please park as close to the front door as possible :) A few things to be aware of - If you are a smoker, I kindly ask that you find a more suitable place to stay. I'm very sensitive to cigarette smoke and find that even when people have smoked outside, the fumes find a way into my home and the smell lingers in the studio long after they leave. Thank you for understanding! The last bit of the road getting to my property can be pretty rough if you're not used to mountain roads. I drive up and down it nearly every day with my Prius, but people do sometimes complain about it :) The Studio is attached to my house which I share with my daughter, 2 cats, and 2 chickens (chickens stay outside) :) We Are fairly quiet people but you will hear evidence of our existence from time to time. This is a wild place! I deep clean the space between guests every time, but if you're desiring a completely sterile experience, you might be better off at a hotel as industrious critters can find there way in from time time and little cobwebs can appear in a matter of hours. The well water is also a bit iron heavy and will create some discoloration in the toilet and shower. Most people don't mind drinking it, but if you're a water snob like me you might want to bring a filter along. It takes between 20-25 minutes to drive to Asheville. Cell reception - U.S. Cellular and Verison work well here but others can sometimes be spotty - Luckily though most phones have the ability to make calls and text over WiFi if for some reason your cell reception isn't great.
