A few steps from Cedar Lake beach, tennis, playgrounds. Walk to downtown Sturbridge restaurants or cook in our stocked chef's kitchen full of gadgets. Perfect for a "stay-cation" or to work from new location. Visit local Craft Breweries (Treehouse Brewing) and natural trails. A getaway 60min to Boston, 40min to Hartford, 20min to Worcester. Our house is a clean, disinfected, allergy free zone with AC, forced hot air heating and solar powered electricity. For extra safety during COVID times we will plan a minimum of 24 hours between bookings for extra cleaning. Kitchen: Large, bright open kitchen fully stocked with appliances, dishes, and cooking essentials. Kitchenaid mixer, food processor, baking essentials and more. Ask us for a list of kitchen appliances and gadgets. Dining Room: Open concept area features unique square butcher-block dining table that fits 8 people and is perfect for conversation (or games). Living Room: Comfortable leather coach, soft blankets and an iconic Eames style lounge chair in front of the flat screen TV. Connect to Netflix, Amazon Prime and all Roku channels. (No Cable) Master Bedroom: Minimalist design with queen bed, premium cotton linens, walk-in closet (with full washer/dryer) and deck access. Master Bathroom: Spa-like retreat with soft towels, stone tiled shower and extra large Jacuzzi tub perfect for a candlelit “soak of the year.” Second Bedroom: NEW Queen size bed with comfortable pillow top mattress and work space. Second bathroom: Features glass enclosed shower. Deck: Large wraparound deck with live edge wood table and chairs under twinkle lights, perfect for outdoor meals or sunbathing. (On summer weekend nights enjoy live music from the restaurant across the lake). Bonus Room: Entry area on ground floor includes a hidden feature, a bed that folds out from the wall. A nice space for extra guests. (Fan and space heater provided for this area.) Exercise Room: Oak paneled exercise room with elliptical machine, foam roller, yoga mat and exercise bands. Yard: Our small yard includes a Propane Grill for your use. The entire house is yours! The only area you can’t access is the garage. NOTE: Lake access is down the street, there is no direct access from our yard. 100 meters down the road is the Cedar Lake recreation area featuring a sandy beach, tennis courts, basketball courts, pavilion, playground and a newly opened nature trail. We provide beach chairs and beach towels. You can bring your own fishing poles and beach/lake gear. This is your vacation so we want you to have privacy and relax. We offer self check-in with keyless entry and provide a very detailed house manual with everything you can think of. But we are always available for questions or assistance. BONUS: We provide guests with personalized area guides we developed such as our “Craft Beer Lovers Guide, Kid Activity Guide, New England History Buff Guide, Girls Weekend Guide etc…” filled with our favorite local suggestions for each audience. Our place is great for couples getaways, girls weekends, family vacations, business trips, "leaf peepers" and international travelers. This is an area for foodies, history buffs, antique lovers, craft beer/wine enthusiasts and anyone who wants to just relax. Everyone is welcome as long as you treat our place with the same respect and care as we do. It is generally very quiet besides the sound of boats on the lake or kids on the playground. I love that our place is a short walk to great coffee shops (Cedar Café/Sturbridge coffee house) and restaurants (BT’s Smokehouse/Sturbridge Seafood/Baba Sushi and more). Walk to Yankee Spirits (New England’s largest liquor store), Old Sturbridge Village, Yankee Candle Outlet Store and Sturbridge Host Hotel Conference Center. And a lot of craft beer lovers are coming here now, especially to visit Treehouse Brewing Company. Sturbridge is a hidden gem – a perfect Boston getaway with so much to do. The famous Brimfield Antique Fair is nearby in May, July and September. Old Sturbridge Village hosts the popular Antique Sleigh Rally, Maple Days, Wool Days, Antique Car Rally, Redcoats and Rebels Revolutionary War reenactment, Christmas by Candlelight, Craft Beer and Roots Music Festival and more! Our place is easy to access just a few miles off I90 and I84 near the Massachusetts/Connecticut border. 60 minutes from Boston, 40 minutes from Springfield, 40 minutes from Hartford, 20 minutes from Worcester, 10 minutes to Brimfield Antique Fair. There is no public transportation so you need a car to get here. But once you are at our place you can walk to many attractions or use an Uber car! When emailing us to request a booking please tell us a little bit about yourself/your group and why you are coming to Sturbridge so we can be sure this is the right space for you. Sorry, but our house is not handicap accessible as stairs are required to reach the main living area. Our house is light and bright with lots of windows. We only have curtains in the bedrooms and bathrooms. We figure our neighbors want to look at the lake, not in our windows. We've said it before, but just in case you missed it, we feel very strongly that this stays an allergy free zone so NO pets, and NO smoking of any kind, including vaping, are allowed, anywhere on the property. (This will result in loss of your security deposit). We have no control over the opening of local attractions, including beach/lake. Please check in advance. We highly recommend buying separate travel insurance which can cover any cancellation fees.
