This modern cabin sits on 15 acres high up on Mt. Tremper. Beautiful fields, woods and streams. Cool in the summer, central heat all winter. Great food nearby. Less than 30 minutes to Hunter and Belleayre. The perfect getaway. If you are looking for a beautiful retreat from NYC, this is it. A two hour drive from the West Side Highway, this light-filled modern cabin with cathedral ceilings sits up a long private drive and next to 200 acres owned by a Buddhist monastery. You can see and hear no one if you like. Enjoy trails from the front door for exploring, and snowshoeing during winter. Grass fields are great for picnics, ball, or just contemplation. The large outdoor deck is perfect for reading, cloud-watching and outdoor dining. Or you can drive down the hill to some of the Hudson Valley's best food, entertainment, skiing and hiking. The county's produce and basics are available just down the hill (7 mins) at two farmstands or the larger Boiceville Market (15 mins). Woodstock and Phoenecia are very near. Kingston, the Gunks etc just beyond. Our wifi is unlimited and supports conference calls and video streaming. The whole cabin is yours to enjoy, including two outdoor decks (one covered, one open-air), a top-end Weber gas grill, a fully operational kitchen with modern appliances, a 43" 4K screen TV for your Netflix, Roku or cable app, and a small collection of books and guides to the woods, natural life and nearby attractions. We're here for you. Our friend and manager Renee is native to the area. lives very nearby and is completely responsive. She'll ensure the place is spotless, everything working perfectly and your questions are answered, I'm also reachable for anything Renee can't address. Mt. Tremper is a small village, nestled between Phoenecia, Woodstock and Boiceville. It has one church, one post office, one inn. The county's produce and basics are available at two farmstands just down the hill (7 mins from house). Otherwise, Boiceville market is 15 mins from house. You will want a car for this cabin. If snow is called for, you will want a 4WD (though the drive is plowed). Please note fires are not allowed anywhere on the property, inside or out. Our drive is quite steep so If snow or ice is called for, we strongly suggest an AWD or 4WD.
