Valley Forge Mountain Contemporary
Set off the road at the top of Valley Forge Mountain, between Valley Forge National Park and Phoenixville. Our woodsy property is a safe and comfortable space for your visit. The space we offer is private and in a historic area, however close to Philadelphia Center City, which can be reached by car or train. We are a 10 min drive by car to the biggest mall in the US, King of Prussia. We are a half hour away by car from Philadelphia premium outlets. We are 5 miles away from Oaks Expo Center. We offer a private bedroom, bath and living room area with bistro kitchen and outside garden patio. With your own entrance and off street parking, you can enjoy a peaceful atmosphere and natural environment. Historical Valley Forge is beautiful and has many walking and bike paths. Guests may use the grounds and hike the mountain trails to see views of the valleys and park. Horseshoe Trail is immediately behind the house, you can follow the signs or as your host I am happy to take you there. We will be available as guests require, and can provide information when requested. Guests can use the entire first level of the house, the patio outside and the parking space. We provide your own key to access the property anytime. We prefer a two night minimum stay. The neighboorhood has many beautiful homes that exhibit varied architectural styles. It is completely residential and yet it is a natural setting. It is quiet and friendly. The unique aspect is its proximity to the Philadelphia metropolitan area and the gentrified Phoenixville community. You can relax and have fun at the same time. We are 10 minutes by car from the Paoli train station, which will take you to Center City Philadelphia within 30 minutes. Center City has amazing restaurants and historical attractions. The train station is just minutes from the Philadelphia Art Museum, the Barnes Foundation and the Rodin museum. If you are not up for art, you can go to Rittenhouse Square with plenty options for bars, restaurants, and shopping. The renowned chef Stephen Starr has over 10 diverse restaurants in Philadelphia, and our favorite is Parc. If you're a foodie, go to the Reading Terminal Market, where you can find artisanal food. Philadelphia is the first capital of the United States, and offers many historical touristic attractions, especially in Old City. For example, the famous Liberty Bell. Another attraction is the campus of the University of Pennsylvania, one of the most prestigious universities in the world. You can visit the campus, and there are many options for eating and shopping. If you prefer to stay local, you have many options in the surrounding towns. Paoli, Malvern, Bryn Mawr, and Devon are all within a short distance of our home. We are happy to provide suggestions for eating and going out. We have many favourite restaurants. Philadelphia is located in between major US cities like New York and Washington, DC. If you are up for a day trip, you can take the train, and be in Manhattan in 1 hour and 30 minutes or 2 hours by bus or car. You can get to DC in 2 hours by train. Other options for day trips or touristic attractions are the Longwood Gardens or Lancaster's Amish farming community. They are both 45 minutes - 1 hour by car. If you are up for a casino, you have Atlantic City, which is a 1 hour and 30 minute drive. Alternatively, Valley Forge Casino is only a 10-minute drive from our house. One of the hosts drives for Uber in his free time, and we are happy to schedule trips. The house is 45 minutes by car from Philadelphia International Airport. Please note we have a small dog (Gigi) on the property that will have no access to the guests.
