The Front Porch offers boutique lodging and a one of a kind of outdoor spa experience with private soaking tubs and a custom cedar sauna. This cute and cozy studio is within walking distance to Arcata's Plaza with local shops, amazing restaurants, microbreweries and more. Health and Safety: Cleanliness and attention to detail have always been of utmost importance to us. Nevertheless, we have beefed-up our already stringent cleaning protocols. Our skilled staff are well-equipped with Personal Protective Equipment and ample cleaning supplies. All linens are freshly washed for each stay, and we rigorously clean and disinfect all surfaces prior to your arrival. Special attention is given to higher impact areas including all doorknobs, deadbolts, lock-boxes and keys, bistro tables, remotes and info sheets, light/lamp switches, pull chains for ceiling fans, thermostat, and pot and pan handles. Dishes are washed twice and sanitized to doubly ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment. The outdoor tub rooms, of which two are our custom, anti-microbial copper, are bathed in sun and generally see minimal use and are also cleaned and disinfected twice a day. You will also find several hand sanitizing stations conveniently located for your added safety. Additionally all guests are encouraged to be mindful and take their own recommended precautions. Boutique style bedding, hypo allergenic linens, and an award winning Casper mattress all make for a super comfy bed perfect for a good nights rest. The Zen Den is a sweet studio fully stocked with everything you need for a relaxing stay. Outdoor Spa. Our guests enjoy exclusive access to our luxurious cedar sauna and private outdoor soaking tubs. This one of a kind experience is included with your stay and we encourage you to take full advantage of it! Use of the tubs is first come first serve. With a number of highly unique private tub spaces you are sure to find something magical! Breakfast. In your refrigerator you'll find 2 farm fresh eggs, and on the counter you'll find steel cut oats with the coffee, tea and popcorn. We invite you to harvest kale from our living wall located just across from the bike shed in the courtyard. If you are staying more than one night, and would like more eggs or other items don't hesitate to reach out to us. The Area. Welcome to Humboldt! Come explore a land of ancient redwood forests, wild rivers and secluded beaches. We are centrally located between the two largest Old growth Redwood Forests in the world with Redwood National Park just 30 minutes to the north and Humboldt Redwoods State Park 40 minutes to the south. Humboldt State University and the Arcata Community Redwood Forest are just a three minute drive away. The Arcata Marsh and Wildlife Sanctuary is less than a five minute walk down the street and the Ma'leil beach and Dunes are a fantastic adventure that's just down the road on Samoa Boulevard. Our close proximity to down town and HSU makes getting around easy. Explore the town in style on one of our complimentary vintage community bicycles. Have a drink on the covered porch or relax by the pond. Snuggle up & Netflix. Whatever your reason for visiting Humboldt, stay with us and make yourself at home! Other Things To Note: Pets. We are pet friendly! If you are bringing a pet please be sure to read our pet policy and notify us at the time of booking. Please note: Our $40 pet fee helps us cover the basic costs of cleaning and extra wear and tear these fur buddies naturally bring. Pet policy violations that incur added cleaning time will be taken from your deposit. Thank you for being a responsible pet friend! Tax. Arcata requires a 12% short-term occupancy/bed tax (required from all hotels and vacation rentals in Humboldt County.), and AirBnB does not collect this tax so you will see that adjustment to your rate to include that tax. The airbnb cleaning fee is there to cover the normal time expected for cleaning and preparing the room for the following guest. If any additional cleaning time is needed after a considerable mess is found in the room then we will charge $30 per hour for that added labor and cost. Enter the private courtyard through a coded gate. Unit #3 is on the right side of the property (to the right of the pond when entering the courtyard, third door). Guests have access to everything inside this unit, along with use of our bistro tables, and benches throughout the luscious courtyard. Please use the space, that's what its there for! Nestled in between Samoa Blvd, the scenic highway 101, and the award-winning Arcata Marsh & Wildlife Sanctuary, the South G neighborhood of Arcata is eclectic and diverse. With a wide range of homes, apartment buildings, businesses, and restaurants, South G has something for everyone. From Paul's Live from New York pizza to Redwood Curtain Brewery, from SCRAP Humboldt Art Supply to Arcata Scrap & Salvage, from Rotary Park to RampArt Indoor Skate Park, from the Garden Bliss community to the eclectic plaza, it is ALL within a 1/2 mile of The Front Porch! We are now proud to offer access to several retro street bicycles for you to enjoy from our new bike-shed just inside our private parking area and courtyard! Please feel free to use at your leisure. This property is 1.5 miles from Humboldt State University, a 4 minute drive or 20 minute walk. It is less than half a mile to Arcata's main Plaza with cute shops and wonderful restaurants. Walk the other direction and in a few blocks you'll find the beautiful Marsh and Wildlife sanctuary. The Arcata Transit bus stops just a few blocks away and can take you all over, too! Parties are NOT ALLOWED anywhere on the property. Additional guests are NOT PERMITTED at any time. It is a small parking lot and requires mindfulness to navigate. We have installed various safety features, but please park at your own risk and use only one of the green line marked spaces. All of our units are NO SMOKING and guests will be charged $250 if evidence of smoking is found in the unit.
