With all the new mountain biking trails, hiking trails, waterfalls, some of the best fly-fishing in the southeast, and the lake itself, this is the outdoor enthusiast dream. With this property, you actually can have it all! The 1500 sq ft home was built in 2006 and has been well cared for. Not suitable for small children. Kayak and Canoe available, bring your fishing poles. Our Lake Becky home is perfect for its proximity to all the waterfalls & trails and fly fishing in near by rivers if you have a license. Our home is very clean, and is furnished with everything that you might need. We just installed beautiful new bamboo hardwood floors you will love. This little gem of natural beauty in Mountain Rest, SC is my favorite place on the planet. Far from any major city... the stars come alive before your eyes. Every season, Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter... offers a totally different experience, with different flowers in bloom, wide variation in climate, and other dramatic changes that easily impress a city girl like myself. Out here, you are disconnected enough to let go of the constant interruptions of modern life... but with WiFi available you can always reconnect at a moments notice. This is a natural setting with leaves falling on the deck and on the ground. If you are looking for a manicured lawn this is not your place. You are in the country with beautiful views of a lake and at least 20 -30 minutes from a town. However, a Dollar Store and Mtn Rest Cafe are near by. We do not consider our home suitable for small children due to steep stairways and drop off to lake. Lake is not fenced off and there are no lifeguards. We have a canoe and a kayak you may use, you just need to sign waiver first and text to me. Wear life jackets and go counter clockwise around the lake. Don't drink and boat:) Stay away from spill ways and dam. Stay close to shore to avoid motor boats. Please return boats to their place at the end of your trip. Going to town is an event in and of itself, involving a scenic drive down a curving mountain road and a choice of three routes. 1. South on 28 to Walhalla, Seneca, or Clemson, South Carolina. (This is the most popular route for a quick trip to Wal Mart, Home Depot, etc) 2. East via local roads and 76 West to Clayton, Georgia. 3. North on 28 to the popular resort town of Highlands, North Carolina. Each of these excursions is a 30-50 minute drive and offers unique experiences in dining, culture, nature, and more in three different US states. See our guide book for specific recommendations in each of these locations. Of course, if you just want to stay in and relax... you can grab groceries on your way and never need to leave for anything. There is always the Mountain Rest Cafe... a 5 minute drive from the house... and the only restaurant on the mountain. The food is delicious.... but it is not open early in the week so plan accordingly. In conclusion, there is no way I can properly describe for you just how special this place is... and I am biased anyways... but to quote one of our previous guests. "The listing didn't begin to do justice to this place and its beauty". In the Fall, every other year, the lake is lowered some to allow for dock repairs. Even when this is happening we still have a beautiful lake view. Welcome home. You will have full access to the home and its amenities. There is one locked closet where we keep our personal clothes. Guests may fish, but catch and release only. Canoe may be used with signing of waiver of liability only. Go only counter clockwise on the lake, do not cross the lake and wear life jackets at all times. Swimming is at your own risk. You will have the home to yourselves for the duration of your stay. If there are any issues please contact us via AirBnB or phone and we will address them as soon as possible. Because we live out of state, a meeting is unlikely, but there are contingencies for getting into the home in case your code doesn't work, and local family that we can call for emergencies. Nestled in the Golden Corner of Oconee County SC, this 1/2 acre, waterfront property on Lake Becky, sits inside of Sumter National Forest, near Oconee State Park. With all the new mountain biking trails, hiking trails, waterfalls, some of the best fly-fishing in the southeast, and the lake itself, this is the outdoor enthusiast dream. With this property, you actually can have it all! Lake Becky is a 95 acre, private lake. This is a very quiet neighborhood and a great place to retreat from busy city life. Our favorite place for a quick bite of country cooking is Mtn Rest Cafe (owned by one of our cousins). Open Thursday thru Sunday. Serves Lunch and Dinner Thursday - Sat and lunch only on Sunday. Located on Hwy 28 near the junction of 107 next to the Dollar Store. You are in the country bring a car:) No uber or lyft services. There are 3 security cameras outside only on the property that can record audio/video. We only rent to Adults over the age of 25, under 25's must be traveling with family or parents. Parties are not allowed therefore this is not the place for college or spring breaks. No unregistered guests or more than 7 guests (including children). Small children are not allowed as there are steep drop offs to the lake without fencing. You are on a beautiful Lake with a large deck to enjoy the scenery. There are multiple steps down to the lake. No diving off the dock, due to shallow water, you can swim at your own risk there are no life guards. It is a natural setting so always be aware of your surrounding and watch for snakes. There are many beautiful waterfalls and hikes in the area. No smoking in the house, only with caution and an ashtray outside. Prevent forest fires. No pets due to family allergies. The 4th bedroom is actually the den/office and has drapes for privacy. There is a full sized sofa bed. We have a canoe and a kayak for your use, but you must sign a release of liability to use it. Only go counter clockwise around the lake, do not cross the lake into path of speed boats. Wear life jackets while boating. No OUTSIDE BOATS of any kind are allowed on the lake, this includes kayaks and paddle boards. LAKE ASSOCIATION RULES Special Lake Use Rules for Short Term Renters Short Term Renters must follow all current “Rules of the Lake” plus the following additional rules: 1. Short Term Renters are extended the privilege to fish, swim and use non- motorized watercraft in the lake. Non-motorized watercraft includes canoes, kayaks, john boats, row boats, body, stand-up boards, and any other small craft that is not powered by gas or electricity. Use of watercraft by short term renters shall be in any cove and within 50 feet of shoreline. 2. All watercraft used by renters must be registered and the lake association will provide the vessels with proper identification that should be attached to the right side of the vessel. Soft- sided or inflatable craft does not require ID. 3. NO OUTSIDE WATERCRAFT IS ALLOWED is allowed; all craft in lake must be owned by the property owners and be registered. 4. No swimming or use of watercraft without proper lighting after dark. 5. Guest of the lake are NOT allowed within 25 feet of dam or dam equipment. Guests are not allowed to use the boat launch area. 6. All fishing shall be in accordance to SC laws and trot lines, fish baskets, jug fishing, or netting of fish is not allowed. 7. All renters should be directed to these rules and acknowledge that they understand the lake use rules prior to arrival. Property owners (members) are responsible for guests and guests use of the lake. 8. Renters are subject to all local and state laws. Any violation of these laws/rules will result in loss of lake privilege for the guests, and could result in fines, loss of deposits, eviction from property. 9. Guest and owners both agree that if a guest breaks rules or/and causes issues that the owner will give a negative rating on the rental agreement site. 10. Quiet hours are 11PM to 7AM 11. Our lake is a beautiful mountain treasure, we want residents and guest to have a safe and enjoyable time at the lake and in the mountains. Please keep our area clean and the lake free of trash.
