Cozy cabin - Romantic Getaway on the Lake

If you are looking for a family vacation or a romantic getaway, Lakeside Cottage is the place. Unplug from the hustle and bustle of the city and come to this quiet and charming cottage to recharge and rejuvenate. The cottage will take you close to nature, but at the same time has all tidings of a well appointed guest experience; it is located on Lake Walker, which is a non-motorized lake with two acres of wooded forest and 100 ft on the water. Please read space description before booking. The studio cottage (480 sq ft) was originally built in 1959, and lovingly renovated in 2019 to accommodate 4 people. A few amenities: - A fully functional kitchen with electric cooker & oven, dish washer, microwave and fridge; crockery, cutlery, pots and pans. A wide selection of spices and essentials like olive oil, salt, sugar, etc. - Keurig coffee machine with K-cup pods; coffee beans and French press. Selection of natural and organic teas. - Clean and bright bathroom, washer, dryer, lots of towels and spare bed linen which are always washed and fresh - A 52-inch smart TV for watching Netflix, HULU, YouTube, etc. DSL internet with 5MB download speed (can get internet outages during storms) - A comfortable sofa-bed which converts to a queen bed. Can sleep two. We also have a queen size airbed in case more accommodation is needed. - A new Tiny home-based bedroom (attached to the main cabin) with a queen size bed and a study table and chair overlooking the lake - Electric air-conditioning (heating and cooling) for the main cabin as well as the attached tiny home - In case of power outage, propane heater for the cabin, and a 9000 W electric generator on gasoline for emergency electric power. - A covered patio with wood burning fireplace (and wood), sitting area, propane grill for your BBQs, and outdoor dinning for six. Also has an electric heater for warmth, in case wood fire not used. - Small little touches like an actual AM/FM radio, essential oils, lots of candles, etc. We also have a selection of books touching topics like self-care, philosophy, art, history for your enjoyment. - Board games like chess, etc. - Lake-side fire pit for enjoying sunsets and sunrises! A hammock in the open area to enjoy the bright stars at night. Obviously it is usable when not raining! - Boat dock and a small boat (fits 4 people) to enjoy the lake - Above all, the cabin is in a largely natural forest with tall trees and animals like deer, racoons, etc. Please note: Unfortunately we are not setup for pets. The cottage is a cottage; small and cozy (and romantic!). Please see all pictures in the listing to know what to expect. The cottage is on Lake Walker which covers around 12 acres, and we have around 100 ft. on the lake front with a boat dock and a small boat which you can take out on the lake. The cottage is located in a natural forest, which means there is wildlife (deer, raccoons, possums, spiders, etc.), as well as branches and leaves. In the fall months these leaves turn color and fall. We do have internet/Wifi but because we are in a remote location we can get area-wide internet outages. If this happens, we suggest you reconnect with nature! There can also be power outage during storms. We have candles, a generator and propane heat which can make things a bit easy. Welcome to rural America! The cottage is in a remote location and requires some attention to directions. We send out detailed and precise directions before you start your journey. Just follow these precisely. We are available via phone and text, but for your privacy we are not onsite. The property itself is quite and secluded. The city of Enumclaw is a mere 15 minutes drive from the cottage. Dinning options in the quaint town are many with lots of variety and friendly people to help. Griffin & Wells Café is our favorite with the most friendly staff. Satisfy your sweet tooth at the historic Sweet Necessities with local chocolate or ice cream. The closest grocery store (Cumberland Grocery ) is a 5 minute drive where you can get anything you may need in a hurry. The closest Safeway is a 15 minute drive in Enumclaw. We do have a neighboring cabin and you may see its resident at times. The neighboring cabin is close to the property line so please see the property map in the pictures to know what to expect. Drive to Mt Rainier in a little over an hour; ski on Crystal Mountain in 1 hour and 15 minutes; an hour to historic Pikes Place Market in the heart of Seattle; a little over an hour to Snoqualmie ski slopes. You will need your own car to reach here. Lots of parking on the property. In the summer months you can also fish. You will need to buy a license from the state sold at outdoor stores. We do have a pair of fishing rods for you to use.
