View a virtual tour of our cabin: (Website hidden by Airbnb) PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING A Few *Important* Notes: **During the COVID-19 pandemic we are taking extra precautions to ensure a safe space for our guests. We have experienced cleaning staff that will provide extra sanitation prior to every stay. Additionally we are spacing out guest stays to further limit any risk of exposure. During this time, please respect the current environment by intending to stay only at the cabin. Enjoy the open outdoors, including a stroll on our secluded acreage, but please limit going to any stores unless absolutely necessary. Please wear masks if you must go to essential stores. The local Walmart does offer grocery pick up. Please plan ahead to ensure a time slot.** Please be aware that in order to get up to the house, you must go up a steep dirt road that can be rough dependent on the weather. Therefore, you MUST have a 4WD vehicle to access this home. Although 4 wheel is preferred, AWD SUVs may also be adequate depending on the weather conditions. As the snow melts and there is more rain March - May, the road and driveway may be soft and muddy. Please be prepared and use caution. In these conditions 4WD is best, the road may be bumpy and you’ll want to wear boots that you do not mind getting muddy. Please do your best not to track mud through the house. Although we do not anticipate any issues, should *extreme* weather prevent passage up the road, we will notify our renters and provide a refund. At this time, ATV riding is not allowed on the private property surrounding the cabin, nor on the main road (rt. 16). This means you need to trailer your ATV/UTV/snow mobile to get to the nearby trailhead. Please also note prior to arrival we will have you read and sign an agreement/waiver to acknowledge rules and responsibilities. *Note for Hot Weather Rentals: We do not have central air, but do offer use of portable window A/C units. Please use caution and make sure to close any windows whenever leaving the property. Please do not leave windows open without screens (We live in the woods — please be aware of insects and wild animals!) All parts of the home will be accessible except for the garage. Should there be any issues or questions, we can be reached by phone or email. Gorham Road is a hidden gem amongst the highly traveled Route 16. Find convenience with a Super Walmart, Tractor Supply, and 24 Hour Gym just minutes from the road. A few more minutes going Route 16 south will bring you to the quaint downtown of Gorham with various shops and restaurants. Try White Mountain Cafe for a coffee, snack, lunch and books or gifts. Mr. Pizza offers river views from outdoor deck dining in the warmer months and a unique indoor environment year round with a variety of common comfort foods to choose from. Check out the shop within Mr. Pizza while you wait for your food, or stop by the take-out counter for ice cream or dessert. Stop in Scoggins General Store to try one of the many varieties of homemade fudge and peruse the mountain themed gifts, goods, and souvenirs. Check out Lulu's Fine Finds for even more specialty gifts and decor items. Note: at this time there is no direct ATV access from the house. The trails on site are private property. The closest trail is Presidential with an access point one minute from the house down route 16. See (Website hidden by Airbnb) for more trail info. The main transportation within this small town will be by driving your own personal vehicle or ATV. In the summer through fall months, you can drive your ATV on the town roads straight to the trails (this does not include route 16, which means you cannot ride straight from the cabin). There are also many trails for walking, hiking and biking. There are not public transportation options, but on weekends you can sometimes find an active Uber. Other activities nearby: about 15 minutes from Great Glen Trails (hiking, biking, fat biking, tubing, xc skiing, snowshoeing), Mount Washington Auto Road (hike, drive or snowcoach to the top), 20 minutes from Wildcat Mountain (skiing & snowboarding), minutes away from dozens of trailheads for hiking, biking, ATV/UTVing, and Snowmobiling, about 30 minutes from Santa's Village and Storyland, about 35-40 minutes from many ski resorts (Sunday River, Black Mountain, Attitash, Bretton Woods, Cranmore), and more (see the guidebook for more ideas). There is a 24 hour gym located within minutes of the house (Integrity Fitness). They offer day passes for $15 and weekly passes for $35. (during the COVID pandemic, this location may be closed) A super Walmart is also located within 5 minutes of the house for convenience items and groceries. More groceries can be found within 10 minutes at Berlin Marketplace. We do not supply firewood for the outdoor fire pit or pellets for the indoor stoves. The grill does have propane, but supply is not guaranteed. Use of these items are at your own risk and we ask that you please use caution and leave areas as close to how you found them as possible.
