McKenzie River Downhill

THE SPOT This house sits next to a small creek and the property is on the McKenzie River. Walk out the back door and cross our wood footbridge. Follow the private pathway through the trees to a clearing directly on our private bank of the McKenzie River (see photo for map of path). The house is located in the Willamette National Forest. The west side of the property borders National Forest Service Land. To the south, the McKenzie River borders the property. The lower McKenzie River trailhead is about a mile away. This is a 26 mile trail open to hiking and mountain biking, and is minutes to many other trails, lakes, streams, and other local attractions. Hoodoo Ski Resort is about 40 minutes away. The house is also within walking distance of the McKenzie general store, a market and restaurant that offers craft beer on tap and great food. Kids and pets are welcome. THE SPACE, ROOMS, FURNISHINGS The house offers three bedrooms. One bedroom features a king bed, sitting chair and table, television with streaming services, and large closet. This room has a view of the forest to the south, which leads to the McKenzie River on the property. Another bedroom with a queen bed, sitting chair and table, television with streaming services, and private half bathroom is located on the other side of the house. There is a 3rd small bedroom with 2 twin beds and dresser. A full bathroom is located in the central hallway, and a half bathroom accessible from the queen bedroom or back hallway. The house also includes an air mattress for 2 people that can be used in the living room. The living room is roomy and includes a sofa, sitting chairs, desk, and a view of the forested land behind the house through a wall of windows. This room also offers a dining area with seating for 8 guests. There is a well-outfitted kitchen with refrigerator, range, dishwasher, microwave, blender, coffee maker (coffee not provided), and electric tea kettle. There are lots of plates, glasses, coffee cups, and just about everything else you need for cooking or prep. The laundry room has full size washer and dryer, with laundry soap provided. EXTRAS & AMENITIES There is a well-maintained hot tub on the high bank of the creek, with views of the forest below. There is a gas BBQ under cover, just outside the kitchen. You can walk out the door and into the National Forest, including the McKenzie River Campground (walk in from main road) and day use areas. Fishing, hiking, biking, rafting and kayaking, boating on local lakes and reservoirs, skiing at Hoodoo resort. There are many places to explore in this area and we are still discovering new spots all the time. The house offers WiFi (PLEASE NOTE THAT INTERNET SERVICES IN THE AREA ARE CURRENTLY DOWN WHILE CREWS WORK TO FIX.) Televisions are set up for streaming services including Amazon Prime Video and Netflix, among others. There is also a DVD player and a small selection of DVDs available.
