Rose Suite - Vrooman Mansion

A popular suite for individuals and couples alike, this charming European-style room has always been used as a guest room in the home. The Rose Suite may inspire you to explore the lost art of letter-writing at the desk, read a book by the window, or simply enjoy a peaceful nap in the queen-size bed. The view to the east overlooks the original 1850s home of Eli Barber, who was responsible for the building of Vrooman Mansion. The adjoining private bath, with its unique wooden accents on the tub and toilet tank, was formerly the Trunk Room where guests’ baggage would have been brought up by the English Lift. This bed room has a queen-size bed with private attached bath room with claw-foot tub and shower combination. The bath room used to be the Trunk room and is adjacent to the English Lift. The first floor of the Main House has approximately 3,000 sq feet of space that can be accessed. The porches and grounds are also available and a wonderful place to relax. We are a working bed and breakfast. Therefore, we do have staff available throughout the day and evening. We are within walking distance of the downtown Bloomington area where there are many restaurants, theatres, shopping, art studios and bars. Buses are available in the area. Amtrak train station is approximately 10 minutes from us. Uber and cabs are easily accessible. Breakfast is included in your stay. This is a plated meal and served to you at your pre-arranged time between 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. Please notify us in advance of any dietary needs or allergies. Please note that taxes will be due upon arrival. Taxes, which are separate from Airbnb room charges and service fees, are not collected by Airbnb. Taxes that will be due are city and state taxes.
