Newton Walker, son-in-law of Sea Grove (former name of Cape May Point) founder, Alexander Whilldin. This is your perfect vacation spot just steps away from the beach. Stroll down the quiet street to Surf Avenue where a sandy path leads through the trees and up over the dunes to a wide white-sand beach with the Atlantic Ocean on the left and the Delaware Bay on the right. Lifeguards protect the beach in summer. In the evenings, watch spectacular sunsets as you relax on the beach. The property has its original hardwood floors, large walk out windows, wrap around screened porch with wicker chairs and swing, and open 2nd floor deck. Be aware that the stairs to the 2nd floor are original and are steep. Use both railings as you go up or down. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath home can accommodate up to 7 people, and features a fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, five individual wall air conditioners, washer/dryer, street parking, back yard with outside shower, charcoal grill and patio seating area. Comcast cable and internet are supplied for your entertainment. You can easily walk to Pavilion Circle, a grassy park in the center of town where people gather to play volleyball and children's games during the summer season. Watch birds and butterflies during the fall migration. Cape May Point state park has walking trails, a double deck bird observation platform, guided tours and informational hawk demonstrations (in the fall season). The1859 historic light house is still in operation. Climb its 199 steps to see stunning one of a kind views of the beaches, ocean and town. Walk to the Cape May Bird Observatory to stroll the birding trails behind the building. Inside is a great resource of birding information plus shopping for your birding needs. Lily Lake, in front of the Bird Observatory, hosts many bird species. Don't forget to visit Sunset Beach for the sunset flag ceremony honoring veterans each evening.
