Relax in comfort of your own private space in the bottom floor of our home on a channel of the Tombigbee River. Bring a small boat & you can dock it in the covered boat dock just a few steps from your get-a-way. Enjoy boating, fishing , bird-watching, and other wildlife during the day. Sit around & un-wind by the fire, while taking it easy in Adirondack chairs. Find solace, sunrises & sunsets during your stay, whether you travel alone or bring family & friends. Sleeps 2 guests queen bed-sink-mini-fridge-coffee maker Small bathroom with toilet & shower Appliances: coffee maker and mini-fridge, outdoor charcoal grill is available. Cellphone service may be limited depending on your service provider. Fire pit and backyard. Gas Grill is available for use with 1-2 day notice. You can bring your small boat and use our dock with 1-2 day advance notice . There is a picnic table that seats 6 outdoors under a shaded space on the patio outside your entrance. . Chairs around the fire pit can be used by guests and we have firewood available ( please give 1-2 days notice if you wish to use the fire pit and need firewood in the summertime. ) Hosts reside in the second & third floors of the river house, with their own separate entrance. Close enough to respond quickly & gracious to respect your privacy. Located in the Golden Triangle area includes Columbus (The W), West Point, Starkville (Miss State University). Private waterfront / view neighborhood with speed limit 20 mph that is enforced. This is a rural area with no public transportation. Nearby towns include: 10 minutes to Columbus, MS 39705 ~Mississippi University for Women (The W), Columbus Air Force Base, Antebellum Home Tours 10 -15 minutes to West Point, MS 39773 ~Blues Trail, Prairie Arts Festival , Howling Wolf Blues 20 -30 minutes to Starkville, MS 39759~ Mississippi State University 1 -2 hours to Tuscaloosa , Alabama~University of Alabama We ask that you don’t park on the lawn, but in the gravel drive over to the side of the driveway. This area can accommodate 1-2 small/medium car-truck-suv or one large suv or truck. If you have a small boat trailer we can work to find a safe , out-of -the- driveway place to park it on the property so it doesn’t obstruct cars backing out of the driveway. Trash pick-up day is Monday mornings. All trash must be bagged. Before you checkout, please clean you leftover food from the mini fridge. We can provide you with extra garbage bags if you need them . Take your trash to the trash bin, if left in the room it will cause ant problems in the summer and spring. Double check the room to make sure you don’t leave behind any of your belongings Turn off the lights, heater or air conditioner before checkout and make sure you leave the key back in the lockbox and secure .
