Dog Friendly Farm Near Skiing
Welcome to The June Arthur Farm! This beautiful spot has a long agricultural history. It hasn't been in production for the past 40 years but we're slowly bringing it back to life. It's once again producing good, happy, Hudson Valley food: eggs, fruit, lamb, and beef. We hope you'll come visit us. Note for the skiers out there: We're 20 minutes from Jiminy Peak! The guest space is an apartment attached to our farmhouse. It's a large, open, two-story place with private entrance and parking. Upstairs has a loft-like layout with king bed, queen bed, kitchenette, and living room area with floor-to-ceiling windows. Downstairs is your full bathroom with tub and shower. There's also an office space for your use. Guests have been very pleased with the high speed internet and WiFi for working from "home." A NOTE ON GUEST NUMBERS: As the space has only 2 beds, it can accommodate a maximum of 4 adults or 2 adults and 3 young kids. It cannot comfortably accommodate 5 adults. The farm is yours to share with us. Have coffee under the apple trees or dinner at the picnic table. Take a stroll in the pasture, play horseshoes in the yard, read by the pond, take a hike in the forest or a nap on the floating dock. We're happy to introduce you to the cows, goats, and sheep, and help you collect eggs from the hens or get a campfire blazing for you. Just be aware of the electric fences and please let us know if you would like a tour of the barns- they are work spaces and works in progress, so they aren't kid-proofed! We live here full time, so you may hear or see us outside doing farm chores or having a drink by the fire. If you're feeling social, come join us. If you're not (we get it!) you can just wave and enjoy the peace and quiet of the place. The farm feels a million miles from the hectic pace of city life, but it's quite close to conveniences and things to do. Gas, groceries, local bars and restaurants (with character!) are within a 10-12 minute drive. WITHIN A 30 MINUTE DRIVE: Troy, NY-- A funky, small city. Home to RPI. Albany, NY-- The state capital. Chatham, NY--A pretty Columbia County town with a good food co-op and cheese shop. Hancock Shaker Village in Pittsfield, MA. Lebanon Valley Speedway. Car races and monster truck rallies-- a different kind of cultural experience! WITHIN A 35--45 MINUTE DRIVE: Berkshire mountain skiing and hiking. Tanglewood music center. Williamstown, MA--Home of Williams college, The Clark Museum, and nearby Mass MoCA. OMI international art center UNDER AN HOUR DRIVE: Great Barrington, MA. Saratoga, NY. Hudson, NY. Jacob's Pillow. Getting Here By Train: Take Amtrak to the Albany/Rensselaer station. Car Rental: Enterprise has an office at the train station. Our farm is a 20 minute drive from the station. Please let us know in your initial message if you would like to bring a dog. Although we love cats, we can't host them--sorry!
