Cozy apartment situated on a quite side street in charming Cambridge Village. The second floor apartment is the only unit in the house (downstairs is the owner's art studio). The apartment is completely separate from the art studio; separate entrance and amenities. Walk to restaurants, coffee shops, antique stores, farmer's market, grocery store and more. The village of Cambridge lies within rolling hills, scenic farmland, and historic homes of NY. The front of the house faces a grocery store parking lot, while the side and back of the house are shady and lush, with a small creek running through the yard. You can hear the babbling brook from the bedroom. It's quite relaxing and peaceful. All living space and bedrooms are on the same second floor level. There are 2 bedrooms and an open kitchen/living room area. The rooms are on the small size and the apartment is just right for up to 2 adults and 1 or 2 children. The main bedroom is 8'x11' and has a full size bed. The bathroom is accessed through the main bedroom. The second bedroom is 7.5' X 9'. It has a twin bed/sofa bed and is suitable for a child or single person. Kitchen has a full size electric stove, fridge, microwave, coffee pot, cookware, dishes and dinnerware. The table seats 4. You'll find complementary coffee, tea, and breakfast items in the kitchen. The apartment has a dishwasher and a full size washer and dryer. The apartment has high speed internet (wireless, 100 MPS). * Please Note: This is a second floor apartment. The stairs are slightly narrow and steep so if you have difficulty with stairs this might be an issue for you. Also, the apartment is NOT child proofed, so if you have small children, please note that it might not be optimal for travelers with small children. Street parking is available throughout the Village of Cambridge. Cambridge is a very quiet town, so you can walk to the shops in the village or easily drive a few blocks. I am a short drive away (40 minutes away) and will be happy to come out for any reason. The home is located just off of Main St as you enter the village from the west. It is catty corner to the village's main grocery store and right next to the "New Life Christian Church". The brick Dutch Colonial home sits just at the end of the commercial zone and is the first home as you transition to a lovely tree lined street, with federal style homes, historic markers (Continental Road), Revolutionary war cemetery, and farms. Cambridge is a wonderful location with so much to do. Its also a short drive to Bennington, VT (19 miles), Saratoga Springs (24miles), Manchester VT (24 miles), Williamstown MA (28 miles), state forests, ski areas, and parks. Enjoy the Battenkill River, hiking trails, biking, mountains, museums, covered bridges, and much more. Cambridge is a eclectic and charming village, home to families, retirees, business people, artists, friendly and diverse people. Historic Hubbard Hall (within walking distance) is an education and arts center offering concerts, performances, shows, and classes. Adjacent to Hubbard Hall is Valley Artisan's Market, an art gallery staffed and managed by local artists. Round House Cafe is a favorite coffee shop right next to Hubbard Hall. There are antique stores, shopping, restaurants, coffee shops, library, and parks all within walking distance. We are also fortunate to be a short driving distance from the New Skete Monastry, just down the road. The Monastry is a beautiful and peaceful visit, also very interesting as they are world famous for the raising and training of German Shepherd dogs, and for making the best cheesecake you ever tasted! Cambridge is a very quiet, low key town, the perfect place to rest, relax, enjoy the people, history, and scenery of upstate NY. The apartment is a half block from Main Street. Many of the local businesses and restaurants are situated on Main St. If you choose to drive, there is ample free public parking on the streets and businesses located in town.
