A great place to relax or stretch your legs with a beach walk or on nearby hiking trails. The coziness of a rustic, quaint and cozy log cabin originally built in the 1930's, and lovingly improved and cared for over the years, with the comfortable amenities of a modern furnished home (central air conditioning and heating, La-Z-Boy sofa and recliner, Cable TV with TiVo DVR, Netflix, Amazon Prime, WiFi, modern electric cooking range, spice rack with outdoor herb garden). It sleeps 3 in beds with 2 more on a queen-sized sofa bed. All of this just an hour from Washington DC and Annapolis! I value diversity. LGBTQIA travelers welcome! Relax surrounded by nature and enjoy stunning waterfront views, or be active and walk the beach looking for shark's tooth fossils, or hike nearby nature trails. The large windows (new in 2021) and full deck let you enjoy the view in comfort. The perfect weekend or holiday getaway place, especially with the cozy fireplace going. It's on a cliff approximately 50 feet high, yet a 1-2 minute walk down the street and some stairs to the beach. Stroll the beach and enjoy the excitement of searching for fossilized shark's teeth that have washed up from the Chesapeake Bay. Walk the paths in the community or the trails in the nearby American Chestnut Land Trust and enjoy the scenic natural beauty. Visit local museums and historical sites. Eat at local restaurants or prepare your own food and dine on the deck while enjoying the waterfront view. I love my neighbors. They are the best! Internet Service: It's generally quite reliable and speedy. Neither I nor guests have had any trouble using Zoom or doing other online video conferencing. The main bedroom downstairs contains a king bed. There is a small, rustic, attached full bathroom, closets and direct views of the Chesapeake Bay from 5 windows. The second bedroom upstairs is an alcove off of the dining room, so it has only 3 walls but is private from the living room. It has a twin bed surrounded by book shelves and from that bed you can see the Chesapeake Bay and have great views of the sunrise while staying cozy under the covers. There is a full bathroom upstairs and a closet for clothes. The living room couch folds out into a queen-sized bed with an inflatable pillow top. It is in front of the fireplace, and through the dining room it has great views of the Chesapeake Bay. There is a level path from the parking area into the main floor of the cabin: no steps to impede your walk. Waste Reduction and Energy Efficiency: A recycling bin is provided where you can put your flattened cardboard and recyclable metals and plastics. A smart thermostat, modern heat-pump system and LED bulbs are used to increase energy efficiency. Weather stripping and new high-efficiency windows have been installed to further decrease electricity consumption. Bring your own bed sheets, bathroom and kitchen towels, or use mine for an additional laundry fee. Babies who cannot walk or crawl are welcome, but otherwise there is a minimum age of 5 for all guests. Some pets allowed for a fee each, 55 lbs maximum, most dogs under 2 years of age or who bark frequently are not allowed. If the total weight for more than one pet is more than 55 lbs, then another pet fee will be charged. Contact owner for details.
