VASS HOUSE, Cozy Farmhouse in Galax, VA

Welcome to the Vass House! A warm and inviting, charming farmhouse-style home, located in the heart of Galax, Virginia. It has a beautiful wrap-around porch or outdoor patio to enjoy while reading a good book, listening to the water fountain, chatting with any friends or family who might be staying with you, or just sip on your coffee or cold beverage. I can accommodate more than one couple, but would need to communicate with me direct. Short or long term stays are available year round! Upon arriving you will find snacks, breakfast items, water, and coffee waiting for you. The common area upstairs (and the kitchen downstairs) both have a coffee pot, microwave, and refrigerator for your convenience. Amenities include fresh linens, towels, hair and shower products, and a few other items upon request in case you forgot something while you were packing. To help make your stay a little more comfortable and convenient, we have Free Wifi, TV's, and of course, heat & A/C. Guests will have access to all the common areas (kitchen, living room, dining room) in the house and the porch, patio, and backyard outside. I live on-site and work from home. I can be invisible or available. My favorite part of having guests is to have the opportunity to enjoy a cup of coffee or beverage and tell them all about our wonderful city. After a day of shopping, exploring, or riding bikes on the New River Trail , you can enjoy the patio while listening to the water fountain and just relaxing getting away from busy downtown. I look forward to your stay at The Vass House. This home sits in the heart of the town of Galax, Virginia. Within a couple blocks walking distance is the main street, offering lots of antique shops, restaurants, and other nooks. Need a good nature walk and don't want to drive? Just within 3 blocks of your room, you can enjoy a short walk or a 51 mile hike (yikes!) on the New River Trail. We're also within walking distance to hear live Bluegrass Music every Friday night at the Rex Theater, and only about 10 miles from the Music Center on the Blue Ridge Parkway. If you're looking for a day trip during your stay, you can drive up to White Top Mountain or Mt. Rogers and soak in the majestic views, catch a glimpse of wild ponies, or just enjoy a lovely hike. There's always so much to offer in the Blue Ridge Mountains! We hope you thoroughly enjoy your stay and look forward to meeting you. You can walk downtown or if you're here for the Blue Ridge Parkway, New River, or going to Creek Bottom Brewery, then a car would be needed. There is a shuttle for the New River Trail in Fries VA if you want to ride a different part of the trail. Here at The Vass House' you're within walking distance to several places to eat, The Rex theater and shopping. If you want a walk after dinner, three blocks to the New River Trail. You will find music in town and other close localities , Tuesday through Saturday nights and of course the concerts at The Blue Ridge Center. We have several events during the summer through fall. The first large Music event will be in June, Houston Fest. July Smoke on the Mountain State BBQ Championship. August...Fiddlers (Website hidden by Airbnb) week of music and competition.
