Our home is a two-story historic farmhouse is set on two of the most beautiful roads in Germantown. The house was built in 1891 and sits on a 20 acre property right on the Roeliff Jansen Kill, with the best swimming hole in the area, and just a five minute walk down a trail from the house. The location is great year round. There are many beautiful hikes, sculpture parks, skiing areas and great restaurants. Close to Hudson, Woodstock, Saugerties, Catamount, Hunter and Wyndham ski areas. The house, built 130 years ago, has been renovated and renewed but has kept its farmhouse charm. Drive up to the 20 acre property and be greeted by a large barn, surrounded by woods and farms. The first floor has a fully equipped kitchen (breakfast goodies supplied!), dining room, bathroom and bedroom with a double bed. The living area has a projector - perfect for ending a long day with a movie! The upstairs has two bedrooms - each with a queen bed - and a full bathroom. The house is yours to use! The inside of the barn is unfinished and not available to use but the covered area and the fire pit make for a perfect evening hang. Walk the carriage road for a few minutes to find the Roeliff Jansen Kill River and spend the day swimming. If you have any issues or questions, someone will be available to help you. While we are not there, our neighbors will be around to help with any issues gaining entry or anything else. Germantown is a rural community just a short drive from Hudson. Boasts rolling hills and beautiful mountain hills of the Catskills. The center of town has a small market: Ottos, a wine shop: Lawler's Package Store, and Gaskins, a renowned restaurant from ex-Marlow and Sons chef. Red Hook (try Mercato for dinner!) is a mere 20 minutes, Catskill 12 min and Hudson 15 min away. Take the train to Hudson and a cab to the house or drive up.
