The Loft: Your home in the heart of Amish Country

A completely private guest suite located above our detached garage. Less than 2 miles from the charming town of Intercourse, PA where you can find locally owned shops and eateries. You will find yourself tucked away in the quiet and beautiful countryside, surrounded by our Amish neighbors and peaceful scenery. This property has been called home by Kelly's family for three generations. Her parents renovated the space above the garage when she was young and it always referred to it as "The Loft". Over the last 25+ years (long before airbnb!), guests from all over the United States and the world have stayed in The Loft and enjoyed the beauty of Lancaster County countryside. Updates and renovations were made in 2015, in January 2018, and again in February of 2020 as we carry on the family value of hospitality. We strive to make our home (both our property and community) a place of peace and we love to share that with guests visiting the area through hosting in The Loft. The Loft is completely private, including a small deck at the top of the stairs with outdoor furniture. Our guests can arrive and check-in when we are not home--no meeting or formal check-in required. The driveway is shared space. We want you to experience the peace we feel living in a beautiful place that fosters a deep sense of community. We are happy to help you with directions and ideas for area attractions, shopping, etc. However, you have your own space and can interact as you please and as we are available. We also have a very busy family life, and therefore may simply not always be free to interact much personally, but we hope you know we are approachable for any specific needs or questions! Additionally, in light of COVID, we have limited in-person interaction as a precaution for both our guests and our family. Every neighbor we have is Amish, except for our cousin's family next door! The neighborhood is peaceful and scenic, truly a portrait of Amish country living. There is light, fast-moving traffic on our road, but we often go running, biking, walking, etc on all the surrounding roads. The nearby town of Intercourse has lots to offer: great shoppes, food, and local attractions and is an easy walk, ride, or drive! Strasburg, Lancaster City, and Lititz are also nearby and full of wonderful things to do and see. You are free to park a vehicle in our driveway (Let us know if there will be more than 1 vehicle). There is bus transit that stops in Intercourse, PA, and Amtrak train station is located in Lancaster City. -Be mindful that the apartment is only accessible by exterior stairs with handrail in place -We have two golden retrievers named Lucy and Juniper that may greet you as you come and go, but are generally very laid back. We also have an outdoor cat named Merry. The pets will never be inside your apartment space, only outside
