This space is located in the heart of lovely, historic Marshall. The large, comfortable room is on the 2nd floor of a two-story, downtown building. We have lots of amenities, & continental breakfast is included. Walk to attractions, shops, restaurants, bars & breweries. Private parking for all, electric cars, too. All travelers are welcome here. I simply ask that you are kind and respectful of the space. Please have a profile photo of yourself on your profile. Thank you! The upstairs, downtown space is in the heart of Marshall! A short walk to restaurants, shopping, local theaters, and museums. A perfect location for participating in our many local events including; The Marshall Historic Home Tour, Candlelight Walking Tour, Blues Festival, and the 4th of July Cruise to the Fountain. If you need a long-term stay, I may be able to accommodate. Let me know the dates you need in your message and I can let you know my availability. Your accommodations are one large bedroom with a Queen size bed and an attached full bath. The very large bathroom has a large, stand-up shower (no bathtub). We have a roll-away bed and a Pack N Play for use by a third person, child, or infant (extra $10 per stay for each). The bedroom and bath are located within our second-floor office space. The bathroom is shared by office staff (1 or 2 people) during working hours only. The bath is for your exclusive use nights and weekends. Most guests tell us it's like having a huge apartment and not just a bedroom, as they feel quite comfortable using the shared space even when we happen to be working. This space was designed to be an apartment, so it has everything you need. The area outside the bedroom is shared and includes a kitchen, a dining area that doubles as a workspace, and a sitting area, all available for your use. The office has very little traffic, and our main business is located downstairs. The downstairs business is open Mon-Fri. It can be a bit noisy during our open hours Mon-Fri from 7 am until 6 pm, but it quiets down later in the day (by 4 or 5). We are rarely around on the weekends and holidays and will let you know if we will be in our office working at those times. We may stop by, but not for long! Weekday rentals are more suited to early risers or business travelers, and weekends and holidays should suit anyone! Continental breakfast items and beverages will be available for guests in our kitchen area. If you have specific dietary needs, I'm happy to accommodate them with enough notice. There is a full-size refrigerator, a microwave, a stovetop (please don't bake or fry anything that is greasy or smells strongly, there isn't a stove hood to ventilate), and a dishwasher for your use. The kitchen is stocked with basic dishes, a few pots & pans, an electric teapot, Kuerig, utensils, can opener, corkscrew, salt & pepper, paper towels, dish soap, and dish towels. We ask you to clean up after yourself in the kitchen and dining area. There is a private entrance and plenty of free parking. On occasion, the free parking fills up because of special events, but we have the use of our own private parking spaces nearby. If you happen to have an electric vehicle, we are right by the city charging stations. The large bedroom is private and has inside door locks. The attached bath may be used by one or two of us during business hours. The rest of the space is shared, but it's mainly employees walking through on their way to our office, or possibly a customer being fitted in our upstairs dressing room. Our work spaces are separate from the bedroom, and the shared space gets minimal use even when we are here working. All common spaces are regularly cleaned and sanitized. The bedroom is large enough to comfortably use our roll-away bed or our pack-n-play for a 3rd person. Unfortunately, our location is not handicap accessible. I enjoy meeting guests, so I try to be available to personally check you in. If I am not available, one of my co-hosts will have the honor of checking you in. On weekdays, one of us will likely be in or around the office during the day, up until 6 or 7 pm. We can answer questions about the area, give suggestions or just chat. If privacy is what you're looking for, we don't bother you after check-in unless you need us! Marshall is home to one of the nation's largest historic landmark districts, so we have many historic homes and businesses to see. We are within one block of the eateries Schuler's, Stagecoach Inn, The Copper Athletic Club, and Jade Garden. We are also within a block or two of the Honolulu House Museum and the famous Brook's Fountain. We are walking distance to many other food and beverage places including; The Broadway Grill and Marshall Pizza (in one location) for great pizza and any meal, Pastrami Joe's for excellent deli sandwiches and salads, Mike's Place for awesome burgers, Mancino's for pizza and subs, Grand River Brewery for lunch, dinner, beer, and distilled spirits, and the Dark Horse Brewing Company for locally brewed beers and great food. Other nearby restaurants are Free Range (breakfast/lunch), Denny's, Sandhill, Applebees, and several fast-food spots. Turkeyville, with its exclusively turkey menu, theater, shops, and special events is a short drive away. For other entertainment, we are within walking distance of several museums, the Bogar movie theater, the Franke Center, and the Great Escape Theater Company. Albion offers the beautifully restored Bohm Theater which shows movies Thursday-Sunday and has a Blues concert the first Monday of every month (check their website for details). We are 5 miles from Firekeepers Casino which offers several excellent dining choices, and many entertainment options. Downtown Marshall offers an array of unique shopping opportunities. Albion College and Olivet College are nearby. If you enjoy the outdoors we have lots of options. The Kalamazoo River is nearby offering smallmouth bass fishing (I know a great fly fishing guide), canoeing and kayaking opportunities. Both Marshall and Albion have nature centers to explore. Marshall has the "Riverwalk" which is a lovely walking trail. Albion has an excellent disc golf course at Victory Park. We are located a mile or two from both I 69 and I 94. As we are right downtown, you can walk to many restaurants, bars, and shops. We have access to charging stations for electric vehicles right next door (you can see the stations from the window of your room!) Your accommodations are above a business establishment. We operate Monday-Friday from 6:30 am, closing our doors at 6 pm. We are currently closed on Saturdays, though aft (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) we will be open from 8 to 1. Although the bedroom is generally quiet (I've only had 1 guest ever mention noise issues), you may hear some noise from our business operating as well as street noise, because we are in downtown Marshall and on Marshall's main street. Outside noise is rarely an issue, though during special events in town or if the windows are open, you may be bothered if you're a light sleeper. I have a dog, Tyler, who accompanies me to work some days. He is a very friendly cock-a-poo.
