Our guests enjoy breath-taking 360 degree views from 3 sun-drenched rooms (~ 20' x 50') and our loft-like living area features a cathedral ceiling, a new wood-burning stove and plush sofas. Perfect getaway retreat for couple or family of 4! Total peace and tranquility, drop dead views, cosy cottage with plush sofas, top-of-the-line wood stove, easy access to Hudson Valley highlights, including historic towns, the Omega Institute, Taghkanic State Park, the Hudson River, the Millbrook and Clinton Vineyards, farmers' markets, fairs, restaurants and activities (cross-country skiing across our fields, hiking, biking, kayaking, riding, etc) You will have the entire Cow Cabin to yourselves. Hosts will usually be in farmhouse 5 minute walk away. Our cabin is just 20 minutes drive from historic Hudson Valley towns of Poughkeepsie (Walk Across the Hudson Bridge, Bardavon Opera House, Vassar and Marist Colleges, Culinary Institute of America); Hyde Park (FDR Library and Mansion, Vanderbilt Mansion); Staatsburg (Mills Mansion); Rhinebeck (Upstate Film Theatre for best indies, Omega Institute in summer, Dutchess County Fair in August, Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome, Farmers' Market Sunday mornings, Antiques Fairs); Bard College in Annandale on Hudson for Richard Fisher Center (designed by Richard Gehry) for outstanding music and theatre; Kingston on Hudson for historic stone houses and fabulous book bar; quaint Tivoli; Millbrook for Innisfree Gardens, Farmers' Market and much more. Towns are charming and offer great shopping and restaurants. Taxis / Ubers are usually available but expensive and sometimes slow to arrive. At least $40 from Poughkeepsie Station if taking Metro North train. Car highly recommended. Please note that guests joining us for holiday weekends (Memorial Day, July 4th, etc) are requested to book for 3 nights minimum.
