Renovated Farmhouse Northampton MA
Come stay in beloved renovated farmhouse! We recently received an opportunity to teach abroad next year and so we're looking for a long-term tenant until June/July of 2022. Since moving here in 2013 from Brooklyn, NYC my husband and I have added another floor of living space, two full bathrooms, renovated the kitchen, added an arbor vitae pricy hedge, a pagoda for 100+ year old grapevine and planted floral gardens and raised beds. Our house is located in a quiet neighborhood on a dead-end street. Built in the early 1900's our farmhouse has a traditional feel with modern features; such as a renovated kitchen, bedrooms and baths. The bike path is less than 2 blocks away providing you with hundreds of miles of trail converted from old railroad tracks. Look Park, one mile away is a magnificent park complete with a water park, small zoo, a children train, multiple playgrounds, picnic tables and barbecues situated near the river that run throughout through the park. In addition the natural beauty that surrounds us there are dozens of highly rated restaurants and bars in both Northampton and Florence often sourced by the local farm scattering throughout our region. The keys can be retrieve upon arrival. You will have the entire house to yourself while you stay. If they is anything you need I will make myself available to you. Northampton/Florence is a hub for creative, ecological, and socially-minded people. Since living here I started dancing again and began writing a book! I've performed, I've gardened, I've found business colleagues and collaborators in the start-up/entrepreneurial sectors. My current passion is permaculture and there is a thriving community here in Western MA. My husband and I moved here from Brooklyn, NYC in 2013 because we wanted more access to nature without sacrificing culture. I'm happy to report we made the right choice! Just last weekend we hiked to a gorgeous 180 degree look-out, not more than 6 minutes away, then drove to the mall to get my daughter's ear pierced, then went out to have a delicious farm to table meal in downtown Northampton. All locations I could've rode my bike to, and often do! There is always something to do whether it be taking a river swim, going to a play, a concert, a lecture, auditing a university course, playing tennis, or relax in the backyard. The are abundant opportunities to live your-best-life here in the Valley. You're a 3 min walk from Florence center which has your basics. A 35 min walk to Northampton and maybe a 45 min. bike ride to Amherst. There is also regular bus transit.
