A beautiful, relaxing cottage in the countryside. Recently renovated with hardwood floors, exposed stone walls, slate countertops, and modern appliances. Enjoy nearby access to miles of parks, plus bustling Dexter, Chelsea, and Ann Arbor. Commune with nature from the tree-filled yard and starry skies. A truly special place to stay. Come and enjoy the beauty of Michigan! Note: We are taking the threat of Covid-19 very seriously. We have the space professionally cleaned between each guest, and the cleaning follows all of Airbnb's recommend Covid protocols. If you decide to book with us, and then suspect you have been infected or start to show symptoms, please contact us as soon as possible. The Little House, as we call it, is a 1920s fieldstone cottage that we fully renovated in the last couple of years. It's a private, separate home on our property, and we live next door. The Little House is a cute and comfortable home with a private patio, fire pit, mini charcoal grill, and large lawn. It's nestled into our several acre property, surrounded by trees and a grassy field. The house has central heating, but unfortunately no central A/C. There is a window A/C unit in the living room and fans in every room. - KITCHEN: Full-size kitchen with modern appliances, coffee maker, tea kettle, and all sorts of pots and pans, utensils, and dishes. - BEDROOM: Comfortable queen-size bed in bedroom, plus additional queen-size air mattress available in closet if needed. - BATHROOM: Full bathroom with shower + tub, shampoo, conditioner, and in case you forgot yours: extra toothbrushes! - WASHER + DRYER: washer and dryer are in unit, plus laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and fabric softener. - LIVING ROOM: beautiful, cozy living room with a comfortable couch, arm chair, exposed stone walls, decorative fireplace, and TV. We live on several acres of wilderness, and our main house is next door to the Little House. The Little House has a patio and a large yard that are yours to enjoy. Other than that, we ask that you please stay in the vicinity of the Little House to allow us our privacy, and we will do the same for you. We live next door and will provide our phone numbers. Other than that, you'll have all the privacy you need. We truly feel we're in the heart of Michigan. We're only 2 miles from quaint-but-lively downtown Dexter, and within easy driving distance of both Ann Arbor and Chelsea. There are enough tasty restaurants and fun activities to last you a lifetime! We're also very close to a couple of popular venues: 1 mile from Zingerman's Cornman Farms, 4 miles from Nixon Farms. Our house itself is in the countryside, so expect to see lots of wildlife in the yard, especially bunnies and deer. There are several large parks near us that offer miles of hiking, biking, picnicking, golf, disc golf, tennis, basketball, and more. We're also right next to the Huron River, where you can kayak, canoe, tube, fish, swim, and more. Though our property is quiet and calm in the countryside, we're only a 10 minute drive from both the I-94 highway and the US-23 highway. Or if you prefer to stay local, you can easily bike, drive, or walk 2 miles into downtown Dexter. INTERNET AND PHONE SERVICE - We have high-speed internet available. We've had guests working remotely while staying here, and they've not had any issues with internet speed. - Depending on your provider, phone service might be a little spotty. Generally, there are no issues. OUR PETS - We have two dogs. Since we live on the property as well, you may encounter them. One of our dogs, Juno, is a small, white rescue dog. He's very shy and it's unlikely that you'd see him. Our other dog, Acer, is a young Border Collie that is anything but shy. He loves to meet new people, and he's so friendly that he may try to follow you right into the Little House if you don't close the door. We let both dogs roam the property freely. If either is being a nuisance, you can always reach out to us and we will be happy to come retrieve them.
