Birchwood Lodge is only four miles from the entrance to Whiteface Mountain. The property in Wilmington is nestled on three wooded acres with a babbling stream that meanders past the screened-in porch on the back of the house. This is a great place to create vacation memories as you explore the Adirondack and Olympic offerings or join the young at heart and explore the woods and stream in your own backyard at Birchwood Lodge. Large screened-in porch with rocking chairs and a picnic table with a view of the fire-pit area and stream. The lower level is a large open room that holds a well supplied kitchen, a dining area and the living room with a wood burning stove, plus a bathroom / laundry room. Upstairs is a second living room that looks out over the babbling brook and three bedrooms, plus a bathroom. From upstairs, wandering out the front door will take you to the morning sun drenched front deck a great place to start your day on the ski bench or Adirondack chairs. On a clear night, the stars can be enjoyed from the front deck or while sitting around an open fire out back. There are 4 inflatable kayaks, great for the rivers and near by lakes (life jackets, paddles and inflator provided). There are some clamp-ons for the winter, in case it's icy outside. If you have any questions reach out to me through Airbnb, or, once you make a reservation, I will send you my phone number so you can call with questions. The house sits on 3 wooded acres in a quiet and peaceful setting. You can't see the neighbor's house from our home in the woods. Winter stays may require a four or all wheel drive vehicle to get down the driveway to the house. Street parking can be made available for those of you without four or all wheel vehicles. Cell service is spotty in the Adirondacks, you may not have service at the house, unless you are using the WiFi at the house on your phone. WiFi is available at the house, but it does go on and off - due to being in the remote Adirondack mountains. Dogs are welcome with the following conditions: the dogs are well behaved (no damage to the house, and the dogs are not permitted on the furniture or beds), you pick up any dog poop near the house (driveway parking area, fire pit, sauna and picnic table anywhere else visible), and sweep before you leave to reduce dog hair left for the cleaning crew. If this criteria is okay with you, then the dogs are welcome.
