Restful Lakeside Getaway Cottage - Pets allowed.

This pond-side cottage is a peaceful place to relax and unwind. Sit on the enclosed porch and watch the water or enjoy the front porch swing where you can listen to the birds and frogs. We are 12 min. from downtown Sumter and 20 min from Shaw AFB. Local points of interest are Swan Lake Iris Gardens and Poinsett State Park. It is only 2 hours to Myrtle Beach and Charleston, SC & 3 hrs to the mtns. While it is conveniently located, this cottage offers a quiet place to put your feet up and rest. This cottage is private and fully furnished, but it is NOT SAFE FOR CHILDREN due to stairs, a glassed in porch, the water and dock. The eat-in kitchen and living room feature an open floor plan. The kitchen does not have a dishwasher, but with the view from the kitchen window, you won't mind doing a few dishes. The breakfast table seats 4 and there is a table and 4 chairs on the glass enclosed porch. There is WiFi and one TV in the living room with an HDMI cable, Chromecast, and a Firestick ready for your passwords. A stacked washer and dryer are in the bathroom. A hair dryer, iron and extra blankets are provided. The master bedroom has a queen bed. The second bedroom has a full bed. The glass enclosed porch has two single beds. The living area is on one level. There is plenty of parking in front of the house with no steps and covered parking under the house with a set of stairs up from the basement. There is a old dock behind the house. We ask that you not use it at this time, as it is in need of repair. There is a train track in the area, you may hear it if you're outside. Well mannered pets are welcome. The basement has a locked storage area that is not available to guest. Outdoor security cameras are present. Self check-in is easy - just enter the code and walk right in. To lock the door from the inside, twist the latch & the deadbolt locks. To lock the door from the outside, simply press the button with the lock symbol. The code is only needed for opening. You can park in front of the house or under or behind the house. Leave room for the mail carrier to pass. You are welcome to use the stairs on the glass porch to access the carport and backyard. The entire house is accessible to guest except for the storage area under the house that is not available. The dock is NOT to be used by guest until it can be updated. We live on the adjoining farm, a short distance away. We respect your privacy, but if you need anything we are available by phone or text. The road to the cottage is 1/2 a mile long (paved, then dirt) passing by scenic pastures with cows. The road passes through the neighbor's yard and by their rustic cabin. (it's different, but it's okay with them). Some areas nearby are private property, please respect the posted signs. There's plenty of adjoining roads for walking and running. Parking is available under the house, in back of the house in a covered carport, or you are welcome to park in the road or edge of the road in front of the house. This is a private drive and only the mail carrier comes down the road. This listing is completely UNSAFE FOR CHILDREN! There are features (a pond, stairs, glassed in porch) that could potentially cause severe harm or death of a child. While we are not allowed to decline guest with children, for safetly reasons, we strongly encourage guests with children not to book our property.
