Serene & tranquil 1920's farmhouse on 3 acres. The 4 bedroom home is well-appointed nestled magically at the base of Diamond Notch Mountain, the Hollow Brook farm property has a year-round stream running through it. Come and eat under the lighted apple tree, light a bonfire in the rock pit and roast marshmallows, in the morning let the children play on the wood play-set while you make pancakes and eggs. There is a hike at the end of the road to a beautiful mountain (Website hidden by Airbnb) really lovely. A family farmhouse, with original details, we have recently put and all new windows in and converted the house to natural gas, installed gorgeous brand-new high end appliances for easy big family meal times. It's a place with lots of character and joy, we hope you enjoy as we do! The property has a farm house and restored barn. The caretaker, Taylor, lives in the barn. Guests have access to the farm house and the huge lawn, a gas grill, and the stream behind the barn - which has been made into a wading pool. I will be available, at most times, to communicate regarding needs or questions. My brother Jack will be around the property either during your stay or directly before or after. Let us know if you have any questions or if anything comes up. 7 minutes to downtown Phoenicia. Plenty of dining options, should you want to eat out. The well documented Phoenicia Diner is 8 minutes away. The main grocery store, the IGA, is on the way to the house, off Rte. 28. 17 mins away. 30 Minutes to Woodstock, for lovely day trips. Hikes & swimming holes abound. Car is best. However there is a bus that will take you from the city into downtown Phoenicia (Trailways), and you could take a cab or arrange a ride from Taylor to the house. Just ask, we are flexible and accommodating. The downtown is all walking, but it's about a 7 minute drive from the house. Could possibly shuttle for an additional cost. Dining options abound in super-duper hip Phoenicia. Internet in some parts of the house. But, it's designed to be relatively disconnected from the outside world. But if necessary, it is available. There is an old TV (no cable) some DVDs and children's VHS tapes. There is no cell service in the area, at all: we do have an AT&T cell booster that we can hook you up to.
