The Lansing House

Looking for a nice relaxing get-away, close to the Mississippi River town of Lansing, Iowa? This home offers a great space for adults. The upper level has two bedrooms (one king bed and one queen bed) and two (shower only) baths, allowing occupancy up to 4. It features a full kitchen with all the cookware, dishware and utensils for complete meal preparation. There is a deck off the sunroom, with outdoor furniture for your use. The lower level has two bedrooms and one bath. There is an efficiency kitchen, with a refrigerator, microwave, coffee pot and limited service for 4. A walk-out covered patio off the lower family room has outdoor furniture for your use. There is plenty of parking for your vehicles and a boat if you're planning to head out on the River. The public boat landing is just a few blocks away, making your boat launch free and close by. It's a quick trip to the charming downtown where you can browse antique stores, view galleries , enjoy a meal at one of several restaurants or simply walk along the river and enjoy the beauty of the Mississippi. Feel free to use the spices and staples. If you bring food you didn't use and it is still in the original packaging, you may leave. Condiments can be left if opened - the next guests might be able to use them. You will be given the door code in an email prior to your arrival. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful with beautiful views and friendly people. Our neighbors are aware of our Airbnb guests and will help you in any way you need if you ask them! Lansing's downtown is quite close and has a grocery store, several restaurants and a wide range of stores to accommodate most anything you would need. The local hardware store and the florist shop are closed on Sunday, but the grocery and other shops, including the famous "Horsfalls Variety" are open for business on Sunday. There are two convenience stores that are open until 10 on week nights, midnight on weekends. The public boat landing is close to our home and open day and night. Plan to visit the new visitors center-- it is amazing! We are happy to share our vacation home with you. We ask that you leave it as you found it.
