Cozy cabin within walking distance ( 1 block) to public beach and boat landing. Very close to local restaurants, bar, store, bank, post office, laundry mat & library. Interior all redone less than two years ago. Sure to enjoy the cabin and the community! And welcome to the Hartje cabin! For a small town, there is quite a bit to see and do here and in the area. This should help you find your way around. In Lake Nebagamon itself: If you go out the front door & turn left, you’ll see Bridge’s Bar. (They do have live music some nights.) Just to the right of that is Lakelife, which has souvenirs, ice cream, etc. (They are open Sat. & Sun.) From the front of Bridge’s, look left for the swimming beach & dock. At the top of the hill is a Dairy Queen (open during summer months only). Next to that is the Auditorium, then Patti’s Dockside, a bar and restaurant. A little further down is the main boat dock. Turn right from in front of Bridge’s and you’ll see the Chippewa Valley Bank & the post office on your right. Across Hwy. County B is Midland Market Place, the Cenex gas station and convenience store. Next to that is a basketball court and skate park. Up one more block on S. Lake St. and to the right is the laundromat and car wash. In the opposite direction on Hwy B is the Imogene McGrath Memorial Libray, a nice place to pick up a book or log on to a computer. (You can see the back of the library from the front of the cabin.) Next to that is St. Anthony Catholic Church. (There are other churches in town & around the area also.) Down a couple blocks on the right is the Village Inn restaurant. If it is golf you are looking for, there are a couple of courses very nearby, Norwood or Botten's Green Acres, or other in easy driving (no pun intended) distance. And that’s just in Lake Nebagamon (Website hidden by Airbnb) Less than ten miles up Hwy B going east is the town of Brule. In Brule you can dine at Twin Gables Café-Lounge, Round Up North, or the Kro Bar & Grill. You’ll also pass through the Brule River State Forest; great fishing and kayaking/canoeing on the famous Brule River. Go west on Hwy. B to P and you’ll head up to Poplar (Hwy 2), where there is a BP gas station, Ace Hardware store and grocery store. Go back out Hwy. B to Hwy. 53 and you’ll find the Roadhouse & Covered Wagon restaurants and two gas stations. Plenty places to visit within ten miles of the cabin. Want more? Keep going west on Hwy. B and you will arrive at Pattison State Park, a nice place to picnic & view the waterfalls. On Hwy. 2 past Poplar is Amnicon Falls State Park. South on Hwy. 53 will take you to Solon Springs, with a Dollar General store and Lucious Woods County park. Of course, north on Highway 53 will take you to Superior and Duluth. There is too much to see here to even begin to describe. As a taste, there are: • Tall Ship Fest • Blues Fest . Apple Fest • The Whale Back Ship • Richard Bong Memorial • Canal Park Then there is Bayfield, Madeline Island, Hayward, and Iron River in the area. There are dirt track trails and snowmobile trails. Or… in the cabin itself, enjoy local TV, Roku, games, read a book, or just snuggle! Find whatever tickles your fancy. In any case, thanks for staying at our AirB&B. We know you’ll love it and want to come back again! The entire cabin is yours for the time you are there. The cabin is very near the downtown area. Everything you need is within easy walking distance. There is a brochure listing things to see and do in town and in the area. Parking is in the yard in front of the house next to the sidewalk. (Please do not park in the street.) There is a firepit in the back of the cabin and wood in the woodbox. I will have the cabin available through the fall and winter months for those of you hardy folks. Autumn is a glorious time in the Northwoods and we are not far from downhill ski, snowshoe and cross country skiing.
