Meg's Lucky Buckeye
We have revived the unique character of this old house, built in 1864. The floors aren't level - some of them creak - but the details are lovely, and generous light fills the rooms. In keeping with our other rentals -- we are pet friendly. Our daughter is a College of Wooster alum and our in-town house manager. I named the house in memory of my mother, who never set foot in Ohio but always believed buckeyes are lucky. We feel lucky to have found it; hope you do too. This is a cozy place on a one-way street. We've found it to be very quiet here. Parking is in the back and the easiest access into the house is through the back door. Not shown in our initial photos is a game room directly off the kitchen which includes a table and chairs and many board games and puzzles, along with a keyboard for those who like to make music. There is also a small but complete bathroom downstairs off the back entry/laundry area. It has a stall shower and toilet, and the sink is in the wood-paneled laundry area. If you are bringing a dog, please let me know. A reasonable pet fee will be assessed. Guests have use of the entire house, which is more than 2000 sq. feet of space. We live in the mountains of North Carolina and are always available via text, phone or email to answer questions and make suggestions, but we do not personally meet most of our guests. Our daughter lives in Wooster and can also be of help to you during your stay. We fell in love with Wooster when our daughter came to college here. Downtown is quaint with lots of good restaurants and shops. There's a great butcher shop that now has a bar and food options, a local brewery that is walking distance, a coffee shop that roasts its own beans, a yoga studio and a food co-op with lunch and local crafts. Christmas Run is a large nearby park, and there's an ice-skating rink out by the high school. Within an easy drive are Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and famous art museums, hospitals and sports venues, Canton's Pro Football Hall of Fame, Amish country and my personal favorite: Hartzler's Ice Cream and Dairy! You can easily walk to the College of Wooster. The central business district is a longer walk but not a difficult one. We have a tartan folder with information about little details and questions about the house. The television has instructions inside that folder. The "live TV" is through Hulu Live, which is controlled by the Firestick. There is only one television in the house, downstairs in the living room
